With the NYC Dept.of Health trying to get FH's birth certificate so he can get his passport!
This is so frustrating....sorry I just had to vent!

happened to me too! I got tired of waiting. Luckily I work a couple blocks away so I just went in person & it was so much easier! Good luck!

Well, after being on hold & speaking to an agent... 1 hour total!
the good news is they have FH in the system and his correction is being processed!!
She is supposed to be calling me this afternoon w/ an update!

Why don't you go online and get it there....it is much easier. Unless you need it immediately.

I didn't know that the NYC Dept. of Health gave you the option of ordering on-line???

Where was he born? If he was born in Long Island and you are close to Manhasset - you can just go to Plandome Road and pick it up. No line - no wait - no stress.
If he was born in Queens or the city, then I recommend just ordering it on line.
FH & I went to Plandome Road and got our marriage certificate in the same office. It took us approx $37 & 10 minutes.

He was born in Queens, BUT, he legally changed his name as of 6/1. So we couldn't apply for his corrected birth cert until 6/1. I sent everything in 6/4. So now they are still in the process of making the changes. I think if we just needed copies it would have been a lot quicker.
FH changed his last name from his biological father to his Grandfather's last name. He never knew his Dad and his Grandfather raised him, so he did it after his Grandpa passed away last year.
