I'm not going to stress myself out about how much things cost. It isn't worth the stress to me. If my invitations are 500 dollars then thats what they cost. I can't be bothered with all the DIY stuff. It will make me go off the deep end!
ummm yea...you do that and not worry about the cost of things!!! (I think i would have an anxiety attack if i didnt keep cost in mind and then right before the wedding I see the total 'bill'...yea not good)
If I worried about the cost we'd be eating at MCDONALDS! lol, but seriously, We have put together a budget thats realistic. The one we had before was absurd...
I have an ABSOLUTE can NOT spend more than THIS number. We're under it. We need to stay under it. So, I think about budget -- but I don't stress it, I have a ballpark based on that budget -- if the vendor can't meet it, I just meet with (and book) someone who can. There are plenty of fish in the sea!
we arent stressing it too much either BUT we do have a budget.. not just for the wedding but for day to day living and saving for a house and we ARE sticking to it.. the key is to have a budget that is realistic..

Thats what we did too, and if we stick to it, we will have more than what we need to pay for the wedding. We already have a good amount saved too so I'm looking not to dip into that but I know if we need it its there.... Not tryin to go into debt off this wedding....
i freak out a lot because of money since i am still in school this is my last semester!! and i have a part time...so i stress out a lot...but FH is soooo easy going and doesn't really stress out about money...he is paying most of the stuff but seriously i try to keep that budget in mind he says i overreact too much!!!! what i really like about it is that he is really involved and comes with me to every appointment!

yeah... no sense in going into debt for your wedding.. i know its 'the most important day of your lives' but in reality it is just ONE DAY. i'd rather put more money towards a house![]()
I stress sometimes but FH and I both have good jobs and we'll manage. I just forget I can't have EVERYTHING I want lol I am making SOME progress!

Yeah one of my cousin's wedding was way too much. I didn't realize how much time, effort, and money they stupidly put into those extras that wouldn't have been missed if not there! But to each is own I suppose :)
i am trying not to stress about the budget but it is keeping me up at night. I keep having this dream that we cannot afford the honeymoon and I go back and teach the next day. It is freaking me out!!
omg going back and teaching the day after the wedding would be a nightmare for me too haha. I love the kids but no thanks!!
I woke up the other morning and cried to FH. I made him promise me that would never happen. And then I called my mom and cried. The money for the wedding is making me so antsy. FH bought soda not on sale today when we went food shopping and I almost took his head off. I felt so bad!
i try telling myself that this is my one day and to just go with the flow of things!!.....but my checkbook does not agree sometimes!

i dont think Jackie and I ever had a budget. we went and booked everything... then she figured out how much money needed to be saved per week to add up to that total... and wah-laa.. we are on track.
all my friends that are married tell me 'you are gonna stress out SOOO much while planning your wedding'... and i hate that. these friends all think they know everything... so i think because i want to prove them wrong... we have been stress free. i think i stress more over not having enough milk in the house then the wedding. lol
You certainly can try, but it's one of those things that you can't help. I am trying to do the same, it's so not working.
