I don't hate the question when it is from people I know. I guess it is the usual next step for the majority of couples.

I loved that one of my parent's friends asked us that AT THE WEDDING!!!!!
I wanted to tell her, 'well, we're going to have to wait until at least the reception is over.....'

I just think it can be awkward...And five times in ten days was a little excessive...Especially when I'd been having such a stressful few weeks.

I hate it just because we were trying with no luck for a few months, and now that I am unemployed with no benefits we can't try again yet. So it just bums me out when people ask. Plus it's just rude!

People are sooo dumb! How do they know you want kids or if can have kids they just don't think. I have 1 cleint that everytime he calls he says 'are you pregnant yet?' I hate that. One day I had 8 different clients ask me in 1 day. They just don't realize how rude it is. Also I didn't get married just to procreate I got married to spend the rest of my life committed to the person I am in love with!!!

i hate it when ppl ask us that also. it's really irritating! they just don't realize how much pressure it can be for a couple. especially when we are trying. cross your fingers, guys!

I think that's the BEST answer I 've ever heard!!!!! Can I borrow it?

Ona more serious note, I have had FH's family ask me REPEATEDLY, and I always told them it's possible we will not have any, and IF we do, it won't be for a long while. They persisted in asking, one aunt went as far as to say 'Well, you don't love him if you won't have his kids.' (Meanwhile, SHE doesn't have any kids with her DH). I finally figured out how to shame them into not asking me- I say now 'How do you know if I can have them at all?' with a sorrowful look on my face. Terrible, but they need to leave me alone.

I would add 'Considering how difficult it was to get into this dress...

I dont' get it all taht often. My MIL doesn't seem to care either way and my parents would disown me if I got pregnant while living in London, so I think my mom just doens't want to think about it so she doesn't bring it up too much. But she'll say I need your baby here!
