Ugh I hate this question!!! My family knows enough not to ask it but DH's family... that's another story. MIL tells me weekly that she's already knitted two baby blankets
I think the question is unbearably rude. How do you know we can even have children!!! Or that we haven't been trying but it hasn't happened yet?!?! It's just as rude as 'when are you two getting married?' while you're still dating.

I think that's the most RUDE thing!!!!!!!!! Before we got engaged it was 'when are you getting engaged' Now it's 'when are you going to get married' and I can guarantee AT the wedding someone is going to say 'when are you going to have a baby?' I can't tae it. It's one of my biggest pet peeves in life. And then the other day MY FH had ve a yenta and ask my mom's couisn if her daughter is engaged yet..and I was lie 'aaaahhh I keeeel you!'

I think it depends. One of my best friends asked me, not in a 'Hey no kids yet? , why not 'kinda way, but we were just talking about life & the future & all & she said, 'Do you think you want to have kids.'
That was normal & conversational to me, but she is one of best freinds (A nd has been for 10 years) & tells me about her sex life & stuff, so I would say it is within the bounds of our relationship.

I think it's normal for women who are friends to chat with each other about it - if they are comfortable.....and in the same place in life. I have aseveral friends who got married right after me, bought a place to live right around when we were buying...and so when we talk about how our lives are so different now from when we were in high school.....kids sometimes come into the conversation. But not in a prying - tell me you personal thoughts - kind of way.
I almost forgot - my father has actually been the worst about babies....before we were even engaged....the day after Tom asked my parnets if he could marry me, my dad offered his babysitting services to me That I don't mind though because he's a cute old man

my son will be 1 next week...and people are starting to ask when we are going to have another...hello...he is only 1...cant i enjoy his baby time without be hunched over a toilet with morning sickness?
