ivory, diamond white or white dress?

I was driving myself crazy over the idea of the white dress, any thoughts? I do have olive skin

I am SUPER pale (red head with/freckles) so I got the Diamond white since it wasnt so white white...but its still white (if that makes any sense at all lol) I felt the ivory was too dark and the regular white was too white so it was a nice compromise. I think you could go any way with olive skin tone though its all a matter of which you feel most comfy in.

I don't think that there is any wrong or right choice. I did diamond white because I liked how bright it was but I think you should pick whatever you are most comfortable in.

If you have a darker complexion I think that either of the whites would really stand out.

When I went to a local bridal salon, the women in there told me that:
brunettes should wear ivory, blondes should not wear ivory

I am still trying to figure out in my head what the logic is behind that. But since it was said, I thought I'd share it with you - and maybe someone else can explain why they may have said that to me!

My dress is ivory (but not because they said brunettes should wear ivory)

I am a brunette and also have olive skin. I am wearing White. I tried on an ivory gown, and it didn't do anything for me. But the White gown really just 'popped' and did a whole lot more for my complexion.

I had this dilemma too! I really loved how white looked on but then i tried the diamond white on and I felt like it made the 'bling' on my dress really pop out. I went with diamond white. I also was thinking that since im going to be tan from the summer i wanted something with not such a stark contrast.

That being said, i think the girls are right, there is no wrong choice! Whatever you chose is going to be beautiful!!

ITA, only I am not a redhead But my skin is extremely fair and white on pale skin is just a blinding combo.

I think with olive skin you can pretty much go any which way. White would look great, IMO.

it's important to consider the material the dress is made of and whether you want any beading or work to stand out against it. some materials in white look too bright, while others in diamond white or ivory look almost white. it all depends on the dress and what you like on yourself.

These days there are soooo many whites. When I tried on dresses, the one I went with was called ivory - but it looks white not ivory at all. I also have dark hair and olive complexion. I didn't know the dress was ivory until they wrote it up.

ITA, same thing with me. I didn't know my dress was 'ivory' until they were writing it up as well.

i don't think there is a wrong choice. every designer's 'ivory' is a different color. so as long as you look good in it, don't worry about what color the label says it is.

I think it depends on your preferance.

For me it'll come down to the dress and my skin tone in sept.
Imo some dresses just look better in ivory with gold threading then white and silver threading.

I did Diamond White.

I think with your complexion you should be able to do any of the variations.

When you go dress shopping ask them to show you samples of each color and see what you like best.

Some dresses just look better in a certain variation of white... one dress might look amazing in Ivory and another in diamond white. So it's not just your complexion... sometimes it depends on the specific dress as well.

I think all in all this is an area you need to delve into while dress shopping so you are seeing the actual color.

i'm probably going with diamond white since i'm pale but i think the white white would look great if you have an olive complexion!

my dress came with the options of white or ivory (no diamond white option)...

I went with white bc i always imagined getting married in a white dress...i have pale skin but i plan to go tanning before the wedding (not overly tan)

I read that brunettes look better in white and blones, redheads look better in ivory. My dress is white (i'm a brunette, just coincidence tho, I always wanted a white dress).

If I had your complexion I'd do white or diamond white...I am so white I come across as pink so I chose light gold to kind of even me out lol
