ivory dress brides - did your grooms wear ivory shirts?

My dress is very ivory, the tux shop recommended an ivory shirt for my fiance. I wanted him to go in white tie (which in ivory means an ivory shirt, vest and tie) but it seems more striking in white (white shirt, tie, black(?) vest). Will it look funny in pictures? The tux shop said my dress would appear dirty or dingy against his white. And that they always put guys in ivory if the brides in ivory. Is that true? Any input here is appreciated. Thanks

The off white was very classy looking

My gown was off white and he looked AMAZING in an off white shirt & vest & a really great looking tie (not a bow-tie - it was a wide off white tie with a big sort of scrunchy knot - hard to explain) - I loved it. It looked very classy & the off white was perfect. The pictures came out great too. We got the tuxes at Town & Country & they were very good.

I'm getting married in June and my dress is off white but i haven't thought about the groom wearing a white or off white shirt. I'm so happy you brought it up. I'm now thinking about having my FH to wear an off-white shirt.

Groom and guys in ivory...

My dress was ivory, and the groom and groomsmen all wore ivory shirts - it looked great! Pure white will definitely clash with your dress...go with the off-white or ivory for sure!

what about the fathers?

Do they need ivory too? I'm concerned that if my dad wears ivory he'll clash with my mom's silvery blue dress. did your dad's wear the ivory shirts too?

Oh no! I didn't think of this and my dress is ivory!

We picked out his tux and he loves the platinum vest and wide tide that I am afraid that the ivory will not match. My dress is offset with pink and emerald (flowers handpainted on the top and bottom). Do you think the white will clash really bad? I would hate for him to not be able to wear what he wants.
