Ivory vest and tie - what color shirt?

My dress is ivory - very creamy. So he FH will wear ivory vest and tie. Should his shirt be ivory or white?

i vote for white.. i think the white and ivory contrast will look stunning!! I feel that ivory on ivory may be too much. JMO though.

Ivory shirt with ivory vest and tie. That's what we are doing. With a white shirt it will look mismatched.

I think you are right, we ordered the ivory without thinking to try on but I guess we can change it!!!

Thanks! We thought about doing the white shirt and ivory vest thing but it didnt look right to us.

When we picked out tuxes the consultant at the shop said that he encourages a white shirt with the ivory vest/tie combo - for contrast.

We actually asked the consultant to re-dress a mannequin with the exact shirt/vest/tie to see what it would look like. FH and I both prefered the ivory shirt under the ivory vest/tie, because the shirt wasn't as 'creamy' an ivory shade as the vest and tie. The white (to us) looked too stark in contrast.

My dress is also ivory, and my FH is wearing an amazing tie from Macys Donald Trump in ivory. The guy at the tuxedo place said to buy him a white french cuff textured WHITE shirt.
I bought it at Brooks Brothers and it looks AMAZING. It makes the beautiful tie stand out.

definitely ivory, my dress is ivory, I went with my FH for his tux fitting, and the ivory shirt, vest, and tie looked so nice, and matched my dress perfectly, whereas the white shirt clashed. HTH!

DH wore a white shirt with the ivory vest and tie and the contrast was crisp and striking. I was at a wedding a couple of months after mine and the groom wore all ivory and jmo, but the ivory shirts looked dingy to me, it looked like the collar wasn't clean or something, all the gm...I couldn't get past it. White looked crisp and clean, must better match for the ivory tie and vest and for my ivory dress.

We had this issue as well, we had originally picked white but than saw a picture of the ivory and liked the contrast better, so now it is ivory.

I do worry about the dingyness of the ivory shirts ... something to consider for sure, thanks!
