My dress is ivory - very creamy. So he FH will wear ivory vest and tie. Should his shirt be ivory or white?

myt dress is ivory as well and he will be in all ivory, the white will look to wierd with my dress in pictures i think

I was torn btwn this issue at first than i hated the contrast. I was afraid the Ivory would look too ivory or dirty next to me b/c my dress was Ivory. He wore all white instead. White tux shirt and white vest , white tie. It worked out well -even though I wore ivory and he was in white.. pic below..
To the girls that posted ALL Ivory I do L VE it.

my DH wore a black jacket...everything else was white the shirt was white the vest was white the tie was white with faint platinum stripes ( the guys wore platinum

I was really worrying about this issue as well, but it turns out that the rental place we used uses two different manufacturers for the vest/ties and shirts. So even though DH wore an ivory shirt and ivory vest/tie, the ivories werent' quite the same shade... the shirt ended up being a lighter shade anyway. I think it looked great!
I really do like the contrast of the white against ivory, but I just worried about how the white would look with my dress. LOL I was paranoid about ANY white getting near my dress... that it would make me look dirty!

I was told when I bought my ivory dress that FH and the groomsmen should wear ivory shirts so that my dress won't look dingy next to them. When we ordered the tuxedos, they confirmed this as well.

So we decided to go with the white shirt, ivory tie and vest. Groomsmen will wear black vest with ivory ties. The ivory shirt looked dingy to me, could be the brand they use at the tux store or whatever but it just didn't work!

I was at a wedding a couple of months after mine and the groom wore all ivory and jmo, but the ivory shirts looked dingy to me, it looked like the collar wasn't clean or something, all the gm...I couldn't get past it. White looked crisp and clean, must better match for the ivory tie and vest and for my ivory dress.
I do worry about the dingyness of the ivory shirts ... something to consider for sure, thanks!
ours are no where NEAR dingy and they are ivory!

Yours are gorgeous and I agree not dingy, I think it all depends on the type of shirt and also the ivory of the vest ... the ones my FH tried on were definitely dingy in comparison to the super creamy ivory vest he was wearing.
