I bought Ivory shoes to go with my ivory dress...however I bought them at DSW and brought a swatch of my dress with me when I went shoe shopping. I highly recommend this.

My dress was ivory too and I bought what they technically considered to be ivory shoes but to be honest..they looked white!! lol Then again if no one told me my dress was ivory I would have thought it was white too! The sales person at the dress store will probably advise you on what color shoes you should get in order to match it. At least thats what the girls at Bridal Reflections did for me. But let's be honest...no one really sees our shoes underneath all that material anyway!!

My dress is ivory...I'm either dying them the color of the dress, or a little darker, I can't decide. I wish I had the guts to dye them red, but I'm chicken!

I saw a bride who wore red shoes. SOOOOOO HOT!! If I had thought of it before I bought mine i would have TOTALLY done it. Come on...go for it!!

I wore an ivory gown and white shoes. Trust me, no one sees your shoes, and in pics, you don't notice a difference in my opinion. I say go for it if that is what you want!

This is just my opinion, but unless they are inexpensive and you don't care, I would not freak about dying your shoes to match your dress. Seriously, no one saw my shoes. But mine were Stuart Weitzman and I knew if I dyed them ivory, that was it. Instead, I am planning on dying them pewter. This way I get wear out of them.

Re: Ivory wedding gown: does that mean I need ivory shoes???
i think it depends on the color ivory of the dress and the color white of the shoes
i ordered my dress in ivory but to me it looks white - i've also seen ivory dresses that do not look white at all......i picked mine in ivory b/c i was afraid the white was to stark - i felt that the ivory fabric looked more expensive and i couldnt tell that it wasnt white.....i know all designers and colors are a little different though.....so i guess it depends.....i dont know im going to do for shoes either

Best thing to do is have a swatch of your gown. You can wear whatever color you want. Light gold metallic would look good with ivory dress.
My dress was light gold, but ivory shoes looked too yellow so I found a color called candlelight that matched perfectly.
PeteysBride wore red polka dot shoes, MrsQ-in-2007 wore blue shoes at the reception, another bride wore leopard spotted shoes.

I had and off white Satin Dress and I wore White Satin shoes. They were fine and no one could see the shoes any way.
I didn't want to have the shoes dyed to match.
My only advice is make sure that you find a comfortable pair.

I wore white shoes with an ivory dress. Was thinking of dying them orange , but then remembered every time I ever dyed shoes, they never fit the same afterwards. My feet are wide and blister easily, and I'm not one to take my shoes off in public--so I needed my shoes to go on and stay on. In the end, I don't think anyone really noticed the difference in the colors, and if they did....no one said a word to me! (who would have the jutzpah to tell a bride her shoes don't match?!)

I had an ivory dress and ivory shoes. They only see your shoes when your dress is lifted up. Also i had ivory slippers.

Check on zappos.com they have dyeable shoes that also come in ivory satin. My dress is antique gold. But, it looks like a deep ivory. so I'm getting my shoes dyed.

I went to a shoe place at the Tri-County Flea Market this weekend, and the lady there said not to dye your shoes if you are getting married outside. Our ceremony is going to be on a big lawn, and she said that any drop of water on the grass will wash the color off of dyed shes.
Is this true? I dont' have much experience with dyed shoes.

My BM's had their shoes dyed a wine color. We took pictures on the grass & it was a bit damp & the color stained their feet! Luckily it didn't show up in the pictures. So, yes I think u have to be carely with the dying!

I think if your ivory dress is more on the off white you can get away with white shoes, really NO ONE sees your shoes, i dont think I have one picture where you can see my shoes. If your dress is more on the 'yellow' side of ivory i would maybe look for ivory shoes at that point.
