I think if your ivory dress is more on the off white you can get away with white shoes, really NO ONE sees your shoes, i dont think I have one picture where you can see my shoes. If your dress is more on the 'yellow' side of ivory i would maybe look for ivory shoes at that point.

well said...in all honesty - it doesn't matter. u probably wont even notice the difference from a standing point of view let alone ur guests. My shoes & dress were both ivory...but i was in LOVE with my shoes...had they only come in white i would've bought them anyway. not a big deal - but of course, if u CAN get ivory then of course why wouldn't u? but if u like a pair that only comes in white, no biggie

My dress is 'ivory' but appears white. I bought silver/clear shoes w/ rhinestone accents!

My dress is ivory...I'm either dying them the color of the dress, or a little darker, I can't decide.
I wish I had the guts to dye them red, but I'm chicken!

I saw a bride who wore red shoes. SOOOOOO HOT!!
If I had thought of it before I bought mine i would have TOTALLY done it.
Come on...go for it!!

i am in the same boat...my ivory dress looks white also. i picked ivory b/c when put next to true white, it looked softer...and i'm wearing red shoes. it's my fav color and i have to have it!

I bought Ivory shoes to go with my ivory dress...however I bought them at DSW and brought a swatch of my dress with me when I went shoe shopping. I highly recommend this.

I'm SOLD on DSW. The 2 places that I really saved here was this & party city for invites.

I got off-white shoes with sequins (or shiny little off-white attachments...I call them sequins). The shoes look like they were custom designed to my dress, were comfy on the day-of, and were $30. Plus, I can always wear them again.

I went to a shoe place at the Tri-County Flea Market this weekend, and the lady there said not to dye your shoes if you are getting married outside. Our ceremony is going to be on a big lawn, and she said that any drop of water on the grass will wash the color off of dyed shes.

Is this true? I dont' have much experience with dyed shoes.

My BM's had their shoes dyed a wine color. We took pictures on the grass & it was a bit damp & the color stained their feet! Luckily it didn't show up in the pictures. So, yes I think u have to be carely with the dying!

I heard a story somewhere that BMs had shoes dyed red and it was raining, and so they got a little wet on the way to the limo, and in the limo their shoes brushed the bride's dress and got red on it!

ETA: I'm wearing silver shoes....I don't want white or ivory. But the other girls are right, look at your particular ivory and decide! it's not a huge deal I don't think....

I would recommend this too. I think the white would just not go... it might even look too bright with the dress and stick out.

I'd brign a swatch as others have said simply because some ivory looks yellow and if you buy pure brigth white shoes, they may make the hem of your dress look dingy in photos. I wore red shoes lol so can't help ya! Sorry!

The bridal salon I got my dress at is dying my shoes the exact same color as the dress, so see if they'll do it for you.
