Okay Im torn right now. Im making up my bridal shower guestlist for my mom and Im debating between it being an all girl thing and a jack and jill type shower.
I love how my cousin had his shower because it was guy/girl and his whole bridal party was there. He opened up the gifts with his wife in their matching shower chairs. It was really cute.
But then with inviting more people I dont want to put the financial strain on my mother although she said she doesnt care.
I got some game ideas for the guy/girl shower like playing a 'newlywed' game with a dating couple, us the engaged couple, and a couple thats been married awhile.
Any ideas/ opinions?

plus i think FH would actually poke his eyeballs out with sharp objects if he had to sit and open up our formal china and have people ooh and aah over it. . . .

I think it is a mandatory shower thing. I'm really not into that either!
yup unfortunately it is. alot of people get offended if their gifts are opened in front of them.

I have nothing against inviting the guys if that's what you like. I just like the idea of spending time with the girls.

i don't necessarily want jack & jill (not that i'd mind) - but i definitely want FH there. I'm really not good with attention & focus on me, so he's going to help take some of it away from me!

Here are some sites that have some pretty cool couples games
We're doing that...FH has quite a lot of female friend and I have guy friends who i consider better friends than some of my female ones. We're not really going to do the typical shower per se. It'll be more like a hanging out type thing....we'll do some fun ice breakers just so people will be more comfortable around each other...but nothing really bride-related.

lol my fh probably would too! he hates stuff like that..and he hated registering also! he wanted to eat off of paper dishes and drink out of paper cups!! I actually had to force him to pick out china!!!

The good part is, that I have total say on whatever housewares we pick and what not. I didnt even ask his imput on our living room furniature

ALL GIRL!! I look foward to spending time with all the girls and talking about how excited we are about plates and blenders hehe..guys just don't get it!
Plus, I look foward to bringing all the presents home and showing off to FH again

i think a shower should be traditional with the girls....i do not think guys want to be all ohh and ahhs over china...kitchen stuff...pretty house stuff....it takes away from the fun girl time of the shower....
i do think the FH should come and walk the bride in and i also think that the guys having a little gathering of catered food weither it is those big sandwiches or pizza wings type of food maybe watching sports or going golfing is fun too while the girls are at the shower is perfect

LOL the other day FH was like 'oh did we register for a coffee maker?' LOL i realized that i registered BY MYSELF online and i didnt even bother to show him anything. . . oops oh well.

Fh doesn't want to go near the shower - but i do have my man of honor there. If i had the opportunity to open it up to men I would actually have more then probably 15 people showing up. I only have male friends IoI
I honestly think most men really would rather not be invited to a shower. I think it makes more sense to do a jack and jill bach party.
