Jamaica?

ok so after all of your help (thanks girls!!!) i think i want to investigate Jamaica for our honeymoon - most likely sandals..

there are a few ... is anyone familiar with

Negril
Ocho Rios
Dunn's River

Is anyone staying at any of the following - or have you gotten quotes? (besides you kerri )

we are going to Ocho Rios....we booked it directly through sandals during the 50% off sale thing (which they said was ending Dec 15 but is still going on now!) in Dec...I'm not sure what the exact price was but it was whatever we were quoted on the website--FH booked it all. We are only doing 5 nights there though b/c we are doing a cruise beforehand....but FH called and booked over the phone and they got us good deals on airfare as well. I would say if you're just going to sandals, you don't need a travel agent, you can just call them directly--FH said they were REALLY nice, and totally helpful even though we wanted flights that weren't a regular round trip.

Ocho Rios seems to have a ton of activities and is one of the bigger Sandals locations though! I'm excited!

We're staying at the Whitehouse, South Coast of Jamaica, it's also a Sandals. We're staying for 11 nights, I know FH upgrated, but I don;t remember if he elected the butler service (that sketches me out, someone unpacking & packing for me ) but he liked it and hm was his responsibility to plan. We booked last spring during one of their 50%off specials, price wasn;t bad, but we could have cruised Northern Europe on Celeberity for the same price It was his choice & we will take that trip for his 30th in 2010...

i vote for NEGRIL!!!! One of the best vacations I ever went on- we went for Spring break in college- yea there were drunk party people but NOTHING like Cancun or the typical spring break places... Negril is gorgeous, has some good restaurants and is non-stop fun... and if you stay at Sandals you wont run into the college crowd :)

NEGRIL!!!!!!

i spent my HM at Couples Ocho Rios and it was awesome!!! the area is so relaxed and i loved the atmosphere of either just do whatever you want or just lay by the beach!!

i have plenty of pics of the resort and stuff in my HM album!

FH and I went here in November 2006 and it was AMAZING!!!!!!! I highly recommend this place! Absolutely beautiful! You're on the west coast so you have the most beautiful sunsets!

FH and I went here in November 2006 and it was AMAZING!!!!!!! I highly recommend this place! Absolutely beautiful! You're on the west coast so you have the most beautiful sunsets!

We're staying at Dunns River - its smaller than Ochos Rios, so a bit more quiet. . .but only 10 minutes away from the bigger resort! (stay at one, play at them all!)

So we can go over there and party when we want and go back to dunns river and relax when we want that.

I can FM you our price quotes later on tonight, FH has them at home. . . . I know we are getting the honeymoon concierge suite or something

Me too! We are going to couples swept away negril for 10 days. I've heard that Couples has better food than Sandals and it is less expensive with just as good an all inclusive plan. If their site doesn't work, try checking them out on tripadvisor.com Nothing but great reviews!

btw, from my research, Negril seems to be the more romantic of the cities. Their beaches were voted for some of the best in the world. Plus, since its a bit further from the airport, I think you'll get a more honeymoon crowd. HTH

It is an hour and a half away from the airport in Montego Bay. Ochos Rios is 2 hours away.
