Japanese Restaurant Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good Japanese restaurant in Queens or Nassau?? I'm dying for Sushi and FH said he'll take me out tonight. He doesn't eat sushi or seafood so I guess he'll just have chicken teriyaki or something. Also I'd prefer if it was not an expensive restaurant. Money's tight and I don't want to spend a fortune on dinner. Thanks!!!!

PS - Somewhere that serves Japanese and Chinese food would be great too! FH loves Chinese food.

Danny's on Crossbay Blvd in Howard Beach - has both Japanese and Chinese and not really that expensive - i always order from there but they have a nice seating area too!

Does Danny's have sushi??? is it good?

Is Benihana's expensive?? I've heard that it is..I have always wanted to try it out though. hmmm.

yup they have great sushi and really good chinese food too

FH and I are the same as you and your FH - i get the sushi and FH gets the chinese food.

Shiro of Japan.. there is one across from the Source Mall on Old Country Rd. but I think they also have a location in Queens

I am sure you have gone out by now, but I love Jani in Wantagh on Wantagh Avenue just south of the southern state exit 28S.

Just got back Thanks for the suggestion. It was good and FH was happy. He ordered General Tso's chicken and pork fried rice. I had Edamame, California Rolls and Spicy Tuna rolls. The service wasn't so great but I guess that's because it is a Sunday evening. We will probably go again. IT was close to our house and had a parking lot(that's a big plus for us).

Thats where DH and I had our first date...love that place

Also, UMI in Oceanside on Long Beach Road....sooooo goood

aww i feel bad about the service!!! we havent eaten there in a while, we always order from them though! sorry about that!

yeah its right in my neighborhood - and FH works in that little shopping center next to it AND thats where i get my nails done and tan, VERY convenient! lol
