I’m having the Japanese Thermal Hair Straighter done this coming Monday May 7th. I’m SO excited. I’ve waited so long to finally get this done. Now with a little extra tax return money and some free time I’m finally doing it. I wanted to know if there any other brides that had this done and if they love the outcome. I always hear such great reviews and have seen some awesome before and after pictures. Did anyone have it done and hate it? Or did anyone have it done and have a hard time using a curling iron on your hair afterwards. Please let me know what you think about this service? Thanks Girls

I'm asian but I don't have stick straight hair and I get this done. I love it!! But be careful if your hair is weak or thin. It could really damage the hair. Luckily I have thick hair so I'm fine. I get this done about every year or so and I haven't used a hairdryer in over 4 years!!! I have no problems curling my hair with it either.

I want to get it done so bad but my hair dresser told me no because I have highlights in my hair. I think I might do it anyway. If you don't mind me asking how much are you paying? You can just FM me if you would like.

Yeah I heard its crazy expensive in NY. I live in Virginia and the prices here aren’t too bad. I’m paying $300 where I hear in NY it’s over 500!!!! Yes, it’s still expensive but we got a fat tax refund back this year so I’ve decided to spoil myself a little. Thank you for your opinion girls!! I’ll let you know how it turns out next week.

Re: Japanese Thermal Hair Straighter
I usually get it done every 9 months (the past 4 yrs) and I love it. You don't need to style it anymore and no more blow-dry. Love it!!! The down side is so expensive. there are many store swill charge you less but they don't work very well. It cost me avg. $300-350 depends on the length of your hair.( I have long long hair) Just make sure you hair is pass shoulder lenght, otherwise there is no point of doing it.
I didn't have any problem using crul iron afterward, but make sure dont' not tie your hair or crul your hair right after you get it done. (wait at least 48 hrs)
For me, it is worth the money coz I am such a lazy person

Thank you for the advice. I am looking so far to it. I feel like a little kid in a candy store
I heard you can't tie your hair for 48 hours. I'm just glad other brides have been happy with the outcome. My biggest concern was not being able to use the curling iron on my hair for the wedding.
Thanks again

I don't have a lot of highlights. Do you think my hair might break easily if I get the straightening done? I have straight hair to begin with but it's very thick & puffy like...so I straighten my hair everyday with a straightening iron so I figured I will save money & damage by getting my hair done.

I didn't have a whole lot of highlights. I had more like streaks?? But when I did the straightener over it, only the highlighted area got really dry and damaged. It looked like it was electrocuted...all frizzy and nappy and hard. UGH. I spent so much time cutting away pieces of hair because when you ran your hand over it, it wasn't smooth at all!! If you are going to do it, maybe you could do some sort of oil treatment before hand? This might give those highlights some extra moisture.
My hair sounds similar to yours, it's not curly at all, just wavy and gets frizzy in rain and snow and humidity. I used to use a straightening iron as well.....but those were the good old days.

Be prepared...its REALLY flat the first day. At least, mine was. I felt like Morticia. It was so flat and stuck to the side of my face and I couldn't tie it up and had to sleep weird for 48 hours. This is why I usually go on like a Friday and then wash it sunday night so no one has to see me! The stylist said she wanted me to not wash it for longer but I couldn't take it. 2 days was enough. After a few washes, the hair looks awesome! You won't regret it. Good luck and here's to straight hair!

I'm not sure I would do it if I had highlights at least not so close to my wedding date. You should definitely have a consultation done before hand. I will post pictures girls after I get it done.

Re: Japanese Thermal Hair Straighter
I had it done and its almost grown out. I am doing the opposite of you, I am growing it out before my wedding so I can get it curled. Be careful, you will NOT be able to curl it is pin straight. I cannot wait to get mine done again in december. You can't wash your hair for 3 days, so it is all gross and sticky for a little. Good luck!
