JA's Christening Favors...

Liz, you got me in the Christening planning mood... (JA's Christening is March 16th, so Ive slacked off from finishing up odds and ends)

This is what we are using as favors. My mom bough them in ITaly... It will be one flower per person. Its tradition to have them in a china closet or on display in the house...

This town in Italy called Sulmona is famous for their confetti. We've always used their confetti for occassions. They also make them into flowers.

It's great that you are going with a tradition! They're so pretty. If you have any extras....I have a china closet LOL

Do you have his outfit yet? Is it new or one that is handed down?

I love the idea of a tradition, too. For Paul's christening, I did the chocolate bars w/custom wrappers...they came out nice, but a lot of people didn't take them!

Its funny because we've had these through the years in my moms home, and now she got us some in our homes, in all sorts of little arrangements. (I'll take pics of mine one day! one is in a bunch of little flowers in a mortar, another one is a floral arrangement of confetti) and we take it for granted that they really are hard to come by and are beautiful ! I can eat my eyes out at the candy factory in Italy. The chocolate ones are outrageous !!! (Ive never seen them here in the US, they are covered in a powdered/pressed type of dark chocolate.
Have any of you tryed 'torrone', thats another delicous candy...

Anyway, now that I rambled. About the outfit. Johns mom cant find his, and even if she did, I dont think it would fit because JA will be 5 1/2 mths old at his Christening. So I plan to buy one about 2 weeks before, incase he comes across a growth spurt again !! My sis has shoes and some other accessories from her son, so JA will have some things to share from his cousin. I wanted that
(I would even use his outfit but it was shorts/short sleeve and he was only 2 1/2 mths at his christening)...

My sis makes those all the time for everyones parties. Theyre GREAT ! and you have the wrapper for the scrapbook ! She made big ones and mini size ones for my baby shower.

I feel bad eating the chocolate, dont wanna mess up the pretty wrapper !
