Jealousy

Does anyone ever get jealous when hearing about other peoples' weddings?

Sometimes I feel jealous because I am not able to afford everything I want for my wedding (me and FH are paying for everything). While I know it will be great, sometimes the green goblin comes out of me!

Especially when watching celebrity wedding shows!

I'm having a money pity party right now!

hmmm I know what you mean. I am being very creative with my budget in order to have a nice wedding without spending money we DONT have because thats most important to me. Of course I wish I could have everything my heart desires regarding my wedding but you know what I already have the one thing my heart desires and the rest is materialistic - who cares about that? The lucky gals are the ones who found a good man and you know what also? A lot of things seem 'so perfect' on the outside yet their are many skeletons that we will never know of. I know my wedding will be so very fun and special!

It's not even that for me..not even about other people ebing able to afford whatever they want. Like if someone is getting married at oheka and has a reem acra or something, that doesn't bother me.

What makes me jealous is the people who have their parents to pay for all or most of it. I don't know why but it makes me jealous. I hate that we have to pay for this by ourselves. I know some people who have parents who paid for college, grad school, wedding, etc..I don't have that luxury at all..and that pisses me off sometimes...

ETA: I don't get jealous but I get pissed when people are like, you shouldnlt do this, you can;t afford that, meanwhile they had or are having all of it. let me decide what I can afford or what I want. Especially since I'm putting off the one thing I really want to do (grad school) for the wedding.

It's not jealousy per se, I can't explain it. I know our wedding will be wonderful. I guess what gets to me a little is that we have to worry about money so much, and not everyone has the problem to the extent we may have to. Which if fine, I just wish we didn't have to worry as much. It's not just the wedding..there is a whole life we have to plan for after the wedding (apartment, student loans, bills, etc.) on 1 salary. I think sometimes people may not think about that when they are not in that situation and don't quite understand where I am coming from.

not jealous, more envious, i think. one of my fh's friends is getting married soon and has not paid for a thing herself. her parents are extremely well off and can afford to throw her a beautiful wedding, which was thrown together in 12 months.

ok, and maybe a little annoyed when i found out they were getting married before us, but now, i'm like, whatever...

I get jealous of that too. But it makes me feel better in a way. When I hear some is getting married at a gorgeous place with a 60k budget, it makes me feel better to know their Mom and Dad are footing the bill. I don't know why, but it does, lol.

I know how you feel. FH and I are paying for everything except the final balance payment to the hall that my parents are paying for. But his cousin his getting married 3 months after us and they have the luxury of having her parents pay for everything! So not only do i have pressure to make my wedding amazing because hers follows so quickly after, but I have budget restraints that she doesn't!!!
