This is so awful, that i'm almost embarassed to tell you...almost...
They were at my door so I made a big production of waving and going to the door. When I got there I LOUDLY locked the door, dead-bolted it and walked away!

Re: Jehovahs Witnesses at my door
Wow - we haven't had Jehovah's Witnesses come to the door since I was a little kid - and they literally used to come EVERY Saturday while my brother and I were watching cartoons!! We would usually hide behind the couch
until the left but one time my brother opened the door and said to them totally seriously (he was no older than 8 or so) - 'I'm sorry, but we already have religion!!'

Re: Jehovahs Witnesses at my door
i've never had one come to my house.. the benefits of renting the bottom half of a house and going thru the backyard to get in :)side note: i have a friend who's a jehovah and i always ask him questions about it.. apparently they don't like knocking just as much as people don't like answering

Re: Jehovahs Witnesses at my door
When my DH was living home (he was about 15/16) he would answer the door and listen. Then one day he realized they were back, and my BIL answered the door. My BIL told them that my DH changed his religion and moved to another country
Needless to say, they havent come back!

Re: Jehovahs Witnesses at my door
I just dont answer the door. If I want to be converted I would look for someone to convert me but since I dont leave me alone. Its like being on the Do Not Call registry, I wish I could add them!!

Re: Jehovahs Witnesses at my door
I have told them on multiple occasions that I worship the devil!
They were horrified, and would say 'oh, you are going to hell', and I would be like yeah, thats where I want to go!
Seems to keep them away!!

A true Jehova's Witness would not say that. They do not believe that people go to hell (like fire and brim stone in the sense that we think of hell), they believe that when the reserection comes, those who do not believe will be forgotten or destroyed. (I used to study years ago, but I realized a long time ago it wasn't for me)FYI: a lot of other christian religions do the door to door thing, sometimes with the same material.
I just said thank you, but no thank you, and they have not come by since.

That's too cute. I have similar memories from my childhood. Actually, one time my sister and I were home alone and they were ringing the bell over and over again and then they started pounding on the door. My sister and I were young and scared and decided to hide under my mom's bed. Well, they came around the back door, pounded on the back door and then came to the my mom's window in the backyard and starting screaming, 'We know you're in there! Open up!' We were literally in tears. That's my all time worst memory of Jehovah's Witnesses, and like you, they came every week! What's up with that? I don't get that here on this busy street in Suffolk. Thank God!

Re: Jehovahs Witnesses at my door
I learned at a very young age to always check before answering the door .. and will never answer the door for anyone who looks like they are about to sell something .. and that includes someone coming to my door to try to sell me on a religion .. I heard too many stories when I was young from friends who did open their door .. that Jehovahs Witnesses would try to enter the home .. would not easily accept 'no thank you' .. etc.Sorry if I sound cold and harsh on this .. but I can not stand how frequently they come to my door .. it happened alot growing up .. but it is really aggrivating since we bought our own house .. it seems like they come at least once a month .. sometimes even more .. especially in good weather months.
Believe it or not, I've been tempted to put a 'no soliciting' sign up. But part of me feels like they would ignore it anyway, no to mention it would look pretty pathetic mucking up my property.
I refuse to answer the door, get annoyed at being interrupted (because they come around so, so much), and just wait for them to leave before going on about my business.
