I love the Chicco Mamma. My brother had one for his kids so I knew it was good from him and I am very pleased. It's easy to clean, easy to adjust and...DH loved this...it came out of the box completely assembled. You can lower the back to take the baby out that way vs taking the tray off. And it has wheels which is good, locking wheels which is even better. The print that BRU carries was ugly, IMO. Maybe they got more patterns in but I thought it was ugly-gray. BBB carried the Amore design (navy & white checkerboard pattern with hearts) but there are a bunch of other designs too.

Mine comes with navy straps. NEVER NEVER even consider buying a highchair with white or light colored straps. My SIL had lent me hers and it had white straps-I was Oxycleaning them everynight, it was ridiculous.

HTH. Hope your feeling well

Thank you so much! Your review was great, and I'm especially happy that it's easy to clean.

Do you think I'm silly to be thinking about all of this stuff already?

Jenn - not at all! It's never too early to get opinions on baby gear. There's so much to consider and absorb, and you really need time to determine what you'd prefer (which is difficult to know when this is your first time becoming a Mom) and how 'high-maintainence' you want your baby gear to be.

Just to give you another opinion, we chose not to buy a highchair, but instead the 4-stage feeding seat by The First Years. It is a reclining seat for infants and can be converted to a backless booster seat for toddlers. It comes w/a tray just like a highchair. The biggest difference is that it straps onto one your full sized chairs. I love it b/c I can throw it in the car and bring it to restaurants, grandma's house, friend's houses, etc...and I never have to worry about whether there will be a highchair for Paul. BUT - I am also all about buying products that can 'grow' with the child b/c it's less of a waste of money IMO. This seat might not be right for everyone. It costs about $30.

Thanks Claud! That sounds like a great thing to have, regardless of whether it's the primary feeding seat or just an extra. For $30 I can totally see buying it and even keeping it in the car for outings.
I'm putting it on my Things to Consider list, which is currently 8 pages long... ACK!!!

Jenn .... I don't know about you, but I feel like this is so overwhelming. I have hardly started & I'm already confused! Any product info you'd like to share would be more than appreciated!

Christine, I've been a slave to consumer reports and the Baby Bargains book, as well as reading reviwes on epinions. I figure we only have 7 more months to make sense of this, so I better get moving!

I'm learning a lot, and would be happy to share. FM me your email address, and I'll send you a list of the products that seem (according to the sources I've been looking at!) to be the safest and best.

Claud-I plan on getting that seat also. It was one of the things on my registry that wasnt purchased, , but I definately want it to travel with.
As far as high chairs. I totally fell in love with this one . It later turns into a little table/seat for a toddler to color on and play, etcEven Flo Steps to Grow High Chair

Its a little on the bulky side, but its comfy, easy to clean and its 'multi-purpose!' I agree with Claud, its so worth getting something that will grow with the child, they grow so fast !

Happy shopping moms to be !
