Re: Jenn the Hair Genie/Oksana Question

Day of is a whole different story . . . . I think I mentioned that.
But a trial is just that, a trial . . . . . and again, its not a salon owner with the overhead of a salon, so a trial, in my opinion, does not require a tip under any circumstance. We don't tip the Maitre'D at our RH tastings, but we will at the wedding, it's the same idea . . . especially if they are booked as your vendor!

I understand and if you feel that way then that is perfectly fine. But everybody has different opinions and should do whatever they are comfortable doing. If you don't want to tip then you shouldn't...if another person wants to just because then they should do that.

Honestly, i wouldnt tell somebody you BETTER tip, the same way i dont think somebody can say you CANT tip. All we can do is express our opinions and how we feel about it and the person can decide for themselves.

My first post was to say that although there is a whole thing about not having to tip the owner, its not necessarily what everyone does. My mom as an owner received tips. And i stated that i personally do. Didnt post to the OP telling her she has to.

Re: Jenn the Hair Genie/Oksana Question

I'm pretty sure I said 'you don't have to tip', while those who disagreed strongly practically told her she was classless if she did not, 'salon sense' -- really?? what is that, exactly, in this context??

Honestly, I'm getting tired of posts that are judgmental of an honest answer, especially when it saves a bride an unnecessary expense. I have never answered in any but an honest way, and I have booked and communicated with these vendors, that she asked about, and have researched beyond the LIW boards for expectations and results. I shared the true answer that that has garnered.

And my 'up to you' means just that . . . .'up to you' but there is no universe where a tip for Oksana and Jenn is expected at the TRIAL, which is what she asked, and this is friggin' ridiculous that everyone is going to stress this girl out even more than she was to begin with!!!

NO TIP NECESSARY!

i never said its expected i dont know seems this thread is getting heated for no reason lol. If you are upset about what someone else said to you then that is fine but i am not that person...I tried to end my post on a good note and say everyone should do whatever they want. I gave my opinion and thats it, and just corrected one thing about salon owners NEVER getting a tip and showed an example of it.

I never said anything bad about ppl not tipping or fight with anybody for not doing so.

I understand all about vendors, and yes even hair/make up vendors, i didnt use a salon and had ppl come to me. I have also seen MANY posts about this on LIW so do know what ppl normally respond, i come on the boards sometimes lol, thats just a joke to lighten the mood.

I dont know everyone can argue amongst themselves. I didnt think this was that serious. People disagree and have a different opinion, its ok it happens on LIW all the time.

if you felt offended sorry but dont think i said anything to offend anyone

In this situation tip is not required or expected... but you can if you would like to of course. It's obviously an individual's preference.

Edit: typo
