Jennbaby - here's the sofa picture & room - before and after

Here's the before and after on my decision to paint the paneling - along with the new sofa. Not the greatest shots, and as I always seem to do, I didn't get many good 'before' shots.

The sofa is from Bare Boards in Bohemia - Locust just south of Vet's Memorial Hwy. - they also have a branch by another name (Country something or other) in Lake Grove or Nesconsett area. It's a Hickory Hill sofa (Norwalk Furniture) which I've also seen at Seaman's and Stanley's Furniture in Patchogue.

What a beautiful room!
We have painted paneling in our den and it doesn't look nearly as good as yours.

Thanks everyone, for encouraging me to paint the paneling and giving me the courage to take the leap. I'm really happy with the results. Just wish you'd all been here to help me with the 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint - working til midnight everynight to get it done before the sofa arrived! LOL Covering up that old, dry redwood paneling was quite a chore.

The room is still a work in progress while I look for end tables, coffee table, maybe a bookshelf where the antique file cabinet stands, and other accessories. I want to replace the vertical blinds with curtains too, but it's so much more comfortable. I'm considering a chair in the floral fabric too. Never thought I'd pick a plaid when I was looking, but couldn't do the floral thing on the whole sofa to DH and this was a good compromise.
