Jenny2Penny

One of the ladies said to ask you about your favors. I told her that I wanted to do some kind of candle place holder with the place card on or around it and she told me to ask you.

Can you help me out with this at all.

This is what I am doing.

If you do a search you will find tons of posts on them...

They don't seem too hard to make, it's just time consuming to have to hand cut each vellum paper. The holders do not form 'true' rectangles, so you need to trace on the paper the top of the holder to get an acurate fit.

I think it's worth the time!

Re: Jenny2Penny

Sorry to bother you again, now would that just be for place card holders or are those your gifts as well.

I am also really confused as to how you made them, but this is sort of what I wanted to do. So do you type out the people's name on the computer and then stick them on the candles,

Re: Jenny2Penny

I am not doing it as the only gift (it's purpose is a place card holder) I feel these holders are too plain for a favor, adn they will be burning/used. We are also giving CDs.

I liked it better than plain paper cards, or the holdesr that guests don't take of use again. They are inexpensive to make and so great looking when lit.

Yes you creat a template of the names and table numbers. Allow enough room to wrap the volitive holder and to individually cut for each one.

I like the ribbon on it, but others have done no ribbon.

Girls you could also use clear lables and then it would stick to the votives, and look like it is right on the glass.

So I wonder if I got nice candle dishes if I can still stick the place card on it if it is not smooth like the votive holders in this picture. I am still confused

Labels could work, but I like the look of the whol candle glass turned frosted.

Re: Jenny2Penny

I think it would depend on what type candle holder you are looking for, then you can decide how to attach a card. I posted these for you sicne you said you like candles, they look so great lit and the names 'glow' through. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRETTY!

I just want to say.. those are gorgeous!!

What a cute idea..

I bet black brides wish that they had THOSE

Re: Jenny2Penny

I guess I am just not creative b/c this looks hard. What confuses me is how you print the names on the velum paper. I love how it looks and I think I would do the periwinkle colored candle to match my flowers!!

Re: Jenny2Penny

Hmmm, I'm going to venture to guess that you meant 'blackOUT' brides, Xelindrya?!?

Re: Jenny2Penny

Xelindrya - I am confused as to your response above, before I assume anything, what do you mean by ' I bet black brides wish they had those'

Re: Jenny2Penny

I think she means blackout...it has to be a typo.

Re: Jenny2Penny

Wow my thread better not get out of hand I just want to learn how to make these candles,

Shamma I am sure it was a typo b/c the black out brides would have really needed those.
