Jericho Terrace
Hello everyone. I enjoyed reading others comments and have gotten great value out of the chat.I need advice. We're getting married in Jericho Terrace's Sky Room (not the dome room) on a Sat afternoon. We booked the hall at night and when I went back to visit during the day and it was so BRIGHT on the dance floor. I'm nervous that no one will want to dance because it is just too bright.
Has anyone been to a wedding at Jericho Terrace during the day in the open Sky room? Any comments would be great.

I am going to a wedding there today. Im not sure which room it is in though, but i will write wheni get back
also, just off of the top of my head... i would dance no matter what!! and i love the idea of natural lighting... i think it makes a room look so beautiful, and adds personality.

Yikes! Now I'm scared! My wedding is scheduled for May 21 2005 in the skylight room at Jericho Terrace. The one thing I knew I would save on was DJ lights, but do you really think no one will want to dance just because the room is bright?

Re: Jericho Terrace
Ok. So we were in the room that had the Huge Dome in the ceiling (i'm going to assume that it was called the sky room?). First, i have to say that the room was Gorgeous!!! the dome is tinted, so it didnt seem like there was a glare on the dance floor, and i never felt like there was sun in my face or anything like that. the dance floor was packed the whole time- i think that it really depends more on if your guests are a dancing crowd or not... b/c i've been to night weddings where the music was great, but people just weren't dancing.so to answer your question, i really dont think that the lighting will hold anyone back! Everyone was commenting on how gorgeous it was, so i think you made a great decision when you chose that room!
i also have a little more feedback from JT
The service was Amazing!! everytime i finished my drink, the bartender had already brought me another one! he didnt just stand behind the bar waiting for people to come to him-- if there was no one at the bar, he walked around to see if anyone needed a drink- i was really impressed by this (we dont like to have to wait for our drinks)
the food was delicious (i had the filet mignon, and it seriously melted in my mouth).
Everything really seemed to run very smoothly... there were a couple of weddings going on at the same time, but they had enough staff that seemed to be very on top of everything.
the only negative i heard the whole day (and to me, this isnt a big thing at all, but depends more on your guests), is that, when they brought the coffee bar out, they didnt have jameson or khalua. and i think alot of people like to have that in their coffee. Again, not a big thing to me, but if you think it would matter to your guests, you might want to mention it when you meet with JT to make the final decisions. (also, the people that said anything about this seemed to have forgotten about it like 2 minutes later, so i wouldnt stress)
I had never been there before, but i was extremely impressed by everything. They really did a beautiful job, and i dont think that you have anything to worry about!!

Re: Jericho Terrace
Neeniebean - thanks for your feedback. You were in the Dome Room though - not the Skylight Room. The Skylight Room is really bright in the daytime. But I agree with you - it depends on the crowd you invite. If they're partiers, they are going to dance no matter what.

neeniebean.... thank you so much for your great review!!!! u made me so excited!!!!
too bad i was in the wrong room though
but i would assume that since the dome was tinted, maybe the skylight room would be too??anyway, everything was beautiful, so i really dont think that that will make a big difference!!
i'm excited for everyone that is getting married there.... your guests are going to be impressed!

Thanks so much for your review. I'm glad you had a great time. We actually booked at Jericho because of the food packages and we heard such good things about the service. I know the Sky room is extremely bright during the day but I'll just have to get an incredible DJ.Thanks for your help.

neeniebean86 -I'm glad to hear that you were happy with the service at JT when you went. We are having our reception there on 6/25/05...and will be in the Penthouse Room!
We were very impressed with them when we first went there.. And the FOOD tasting was enough for like 20 people -- even though there was just 2 of us!
Can't wait!
