Jericho Terrace Brides - Ceremony

Jericho Terrace Brides - Ceremony

Did any of the 08 JT brides figure out how they are decorating the ceremony room (if you are getting married there)?

Or am I asking too soon?

Lots of candles on the columns down the aisle, rose petals along the aisle, the archway will have tulle and an all white spray on it and there will be a topiary tree on either side of the archway decorated with tulle and lights (like one where I stand, but pushed back a little and the same for FH).

Everything yelly said and to save money I am just using my centerpieces to place on the pillars for the ceremony. After and during the cocktail hour, John (FM) will place them on the tables in the room for me.

That was our plan too, however, our centerpieces are IN large tall glass vases and it isn't safe to put them on columns

Same they are also putting bunting (?) i think thats the right word at the edge of the aisles... you know kinda like drapping it in between each row.... and petals and candles.

Do you think they allow candles in hurricane vases on floor going along the aisle? im getting married at 6pm in December so it will be dark outside - and i want that dim, candlelit feel for the ceremony, i think it would be romantic to walk down a candle lit aisle......but i dont know if thats like a fire hazard

another idea i have is getting a small pre-lit 7ft Christmas tree and put it to one side of the altar and put all pictures of FH and I on the branches (if they allow us to do that) but i'm not sure if it will look to small inside the room.....and then what the hell will they do with the tree after? and who would put it up and place the pics on the branches? so i guess i'd have to talk to them about that.....

and i think i want lots of red roses......

even though we are only in there for like 20 mins I still want it to look really beautiful!!!

I think those are awesome ideas. I love the Christmas theme. I asked about candels b/c some places dont allow them and I was told as long as they are resting in or on something they are fine. They are concerned about wax dripping and ruining stuff so as long as that doesnt happen they are cool with it.

Also, i dont know what you girls were doing for programs. I saw this picture in a book actually when i was looking for a photographer and this girl actually hung the programs off a ribbon in this holder and hung them off the back of every chair. I am trying to find a picture of it b/c it was so nice. And it dressed everything up too...

that sounds like a really good idea for the programs! i've been to weddings where they were in a basket or someone was handing them out and we didn't even get one.....so if they are on the back of every chair everyone is sure to get one.....and it probably would look great! i think i want to try doing something like that......

also i want the room to look really pretty b/c we are probably going to take pictures in the room either before or after the ceremony - i love pics of the bride and groom alone in the church so i want to do the same thing but minus the church lol

we're also going to get a string quartet or harpist for the ceremony - i just want it to be very romantic!!

you should use a christmas tree as your place card holder. put the place cards in little frame ornaments and hang them on the tree and then your guests get another favor out of it too

Also, i dont know if anyone else is using pedestals besides me... but JT lets them do a petal drop on the first dace for the bride and groom.... maybe you could do snowflakes (obviously not real) or something....just a thought

wow!! thats crazy! im def going to look at pedestals - or use one of the other recommended florists.....im not from LI so we are just going to see all the florists that are in the JT book....

the christmas theme is definitley fun but i dont want to go overboard with it - because than it might become cheezy......for example my BM's are going to wear a neutral color like taupe but we'll all carry red roses, on top of the regular vienesse hour they are also throwing in hot chocolote, egg nog and christmas cookies, and i want to do something with a christmas tree - either put pics of us on the branches or do like yelley suggested and do a place card tree....and i think we'll do a simple centerpiece like the one i posted (hopefully that will save us some $$ that we can use toward ceremony decor).....i just dont want to get to carried away with it all

the placecard tree sounds really cute and original...yea dont get santa claus to come or something cuz that would be silly. but simple christmas themes are beautiful.
