Help!! My fiance and I were looking at reception halls and we both like the Jericho Terrace and Crest Hollow Country Club but we're not sure which one is better in terms of food, desserts, atmosphere, and service quality (but mostly the food and viennese). If anyone is familiar with either or both of these establishments please shed some light. Thanks for the insight!!!!

Been to both, and my vote is Jericho Terrace. Not that there is anything wrong with Crest Hollow, just my personal opinion.

Hi! thanks for the speedy reply! i really liked the crest hollow but i've heard rave reviews about the food and pastries at Jericho- which is probably more important to me. is that why you say its better? also, i see that you are greek? so is my FH! where is there a nice greek church in nassau?

Yeah FH and I are Greek. St Pauls in Garden city is very nice that there is this beautiful Grk church in Brookville, I forgot the name. I dont remember how the pasties are there. Maybe you should read a past brides review on JT or CH. good luck!!!

i'm a crest hollow bride so i'm obviously a bit biased.. but i also looked at jericho terrace because i was absolutely smitten with that dome room.. what turned it for me was when i went to JT and saw not one.. not two.. but THREE brides in the lobby.. at the same time.. one trying to get into her cocktail hour, while another one tried to get past her to take pictures.. and a third by the front door in the corner taking pics as well.
i didnt like that at all..and as many times as I went to CHCC I never saw that happen. I also liked that CHCC was set off the road and easy to get into. Trying to make that left turn into JT can be a beast..
i'd suggest thinking hard about what is most important to you (sounds like the food is) and schedule a tasting at both. i had an impromptu tasting at JT and neither my fiance nor my daughter ate any of it.. ( i thought it was fantastic but they weren't impressed)

Thank you so much for your reply! I have a taste testing scheduled for crest. seems like they all want you to sign on the dotted line that day though! jericho said i could test there too but seemed more adamant about me being ready to book that day. don't like that pressure! and definately don't want to see other brides!!! but JT uses dortonis- they are the best. CT uses erga bakery. Got up early before work to go test them out! i'll let you know........

Im a CHCC bride so of course Im going to say there. I loved them both but the seller for me was smoking NO i dont plan on being the beautiful bride with a cigarette in my hand but my dad smokes and alot of people do. At Jericho you have to walk down the stairs and outside in the parking lot area. At CHCC Im in the Emerald room and you can walk right out to the terrace.
This way if I need to find a guest right away like my dad He will be right there.

Hey thanks for the info! but I was mostly curious about the how the food was (dessert included) and the general service and atmosphere (whether you had to deal with other weddings going on). Let me know you if you have any opinions on any of that.

my sister went to one wedding there and said the room was cramped to many people and low cielings dont know anything else at Jericho I love love love CHCC
but Jericho was our second choice

I vote Jericho Terrace. I don't like how when you walk into CCHC they ask you which wedding you are there for. There are multiple weddings going on there, and you feel it! I don't mind a multi-wedding venue, but I prefer them to be tactful in the way they handle all the events.

My vote obviously is for JT we love it ..they are constantly updating the decor and freshening up ....we loved the food and we always get great service when we go to check up on things ...good luck it really is your personal choice

i had my wedding there and been to wedding there before at CHCC the cocktail hour has the best food, and dinner also is amazing, the dessert is usually the cake and a hagan duz ice cream, thing, you can also add viennese hour if you like.

i was never at CHCC but i love JT. we chose to have our ceremony and reception there. FSIL had her reception there and it was beautiful - the service was amazing, the food was really good for a catering hall and we were very impressed with the VH. She had her reception in the skylight terrace room. The only thing I dont like about JT is that some parts of the place are a little too gauty for my liking - its really not my style BUT i loved the dome room and when i saw it i knew i had to have our reception there I also liked the cocktail hour room - we are using the larger one, and i like the skylight room for our cermeony.... I also liked their menus more than other places. They had the most foods that I like (im very picky).....
either way you will be happy. ive seen CHCC brides on here and that place looks beautiful as well!!

I viewed both places and my vote would have to CHCC because JT looks as if there would be alot of traffice since there are 3 rooms...

just got back from erga (CTs bakery). not impressed. in my opinion dortoni's bakery blows them away. looks and taste. i can't see paying for a vienesse hour or section with sub adequate desserts. and is that an indicative of what dinner will taste like too? maybe i'm too picky but seems to me like it's a hell of a lot of money to invest in a once in a lifetime party to have guests say 'eh- food was alright'. so now i'm back to square one with hall picks and NEVER imagined it would be this difficult to pick a place. or that i would become a 'bridezilla' LOL
