Hi, I'm new to this board and really need some help. I'm planning my wedding for October of 2007. I went to look at a few reception halls and am pretty much undecided. We went to look at Jericho Terrace and thought that the place was really pretty and the menu was what we were looking for. If someone can please reply and let me know what experiences you may have had with Jericho Terrace, it would be so helpful. We are planning on going back there tomorrow for a tasting, but before I book the hall I would like to get some reviews on this. I would really appreciate some input.
Many thanks!!

Welcome!
I bumped the Jericho Terrace thread...this is the linkie link just in case.
You should check out the Bride's Review Board...there are a few reviews there on JT, including my wedding review. I LOVED JT from beginning to end, they were amazing.
There are so many beautiful places, I know it can be overwhelming. Take your time, ask a lot of questions and always bargain!
Happy planning!

Re: Jericho Terrace - Please Help!
My sister got married at Jericho Terrace (the Dome Room). Her wedding was wonderful and the staff was great, from planning to the day of the wedding. I would have booked my wedding there, but I didn't want to use the same hall.

I used to work there so I didn't have it on my list of halls to consider.

You didn't like it, or you just needed a change of pace?

Hi! I'm getting married there in June 06, and so far we've been very happy with how our banquet manager has handled everything. Sorry I can't give more info until I have the wedding there. But I can say that we are very happy with our choice so far.

Um, it was a little of both, but please remember since I worked there, I saw the ins and outs of it and all the politics so I grew tired of it. If you want further details, please feel free to FM me.

I also looked for Oct. 07. I liked Mike Closs the BM very much, he totally sold the place. However, I went back like 4 times and it was too busy inside.... Its 3 weddings at once in a very small place. Don't get me wrong I thought it was great but too busy for me. I've seriously been to most places on LI So if anyone needs any info FM me.

Oh and the price was too high for 3 weddings at once.... If your going to book there tell them Fox Hollow (2wed) offered you $95pp Sat night Oct. 07. They will come down trust me. And thats true by the way. HTH

Are you sure about three weddings at once? I thought it was only a max of two at a time. I don't think the parking lot could hold that many cars!

So far so good with them, everytime we have walked in there was on a weekend so there was weddings going on, and I never saw more than 2 parties going at once. Our BM (Anthony) has always been more than accommodating with any questions and concerns that we've had.
The food is incredible, and they were willing to work with us on the price. We got rid of a few things for the cocktail hour because there was so much food with the deluxe menu, so it brought the price down.
However, there's one thing that has bugged me and that's I've been getting calls from their vendors. I wish they would have informed me that my information was going to be given to them without my permission. I think it might be because we scheduled an appt with their event coordinator, but had to cancel it.

I am not going to bad mouth any place. But I had my heart set on JT and the person we met with killed it for me. I would have paid any price to have my wedding there...if you want to know FM me.

I think you are right. There may be 3 PARTIES going on at one time, but only 2 weddings. They cannot have more than 2 b/c there are only 2 Cocktail Hour rooms.

They can stagger the cocktail hours. They may not all start at the same time, but it is possible that they can have three weddings going on at once. Although, it may have changed since I've been there, so I'm not positive.

We went to a friends wedding there last year. Place was nice (not my personal style though), but my biggest complaint was that the bartender was NEVER there, and the used generic soda and alcohol... make sure you specify you want top shelf liquor if you book!! Good luck!!

I read this complaint as soon as I joined and I made sure to mention it to my BM (thank you GN! ) and he definitely assured me that it is 'top shelf liquor' and 'brand name soda' for all affairs...unless the bride and groom request to downgrade their selection to save money, but this is very rare and they don't recommend doing it. I have to say at my wedding my guests were drinking Corona and Heineken by the bottle, sipping on Johnny Walker and martinis were made with Grey Goose so I say this was top shelf.
About the 3 wedding thing...I was told that the max is 2 weddings. And on my day I did only see one other party. HTH!

I don't want to bad mouth either - our day was wonderful, and no one knew that dh and i were scared 'poppy'-less that it might not be - we got married at a time when their staff was constantly changing, and they tried to pull many fast ones ('oh, he should have neevr agreed to that' then 'she couldn't have signed you under that....', etc) overall, everyone had a great time on the day and the staff was wonderful but they treated us like crap the whole time up until that point, even our refund took forever (we wound up overpaying in the end!) and when we finally got it, it was a check in an envelope, no note, anything.....
i have heard wonderufl things since, and it seems they have really gotten back to the higher level of quality, so try it out and judge for yourself! good luck!

Re: Jericho Terrace - Please Help!
Thank you all for replying to my post. It was really helpful. My fiancee and both of our moms went back to JT on Saturday. They gave us a tasting (I must say the food was excellent). We decided to book them for Oct. 7, 07. We got the Penthouse Room instead of the Skylight Room (which is more my style). I hope all goes well, but it just feels like so far away.
