I am getting married in the Skylight Room next June on a Sat night. The ceremony starts at 7pm, so there should still be light then, but my reception (also in that room) starts at 8:30pm and ends at 12:30am. I wonder what the lighting looks like in the room at night, and whether it will be really dark.
Does anyone have any evening shots in that room?
Also, I was looking at the JT website, and what is the difference between the Skylight Room, and the Skylight Terrace Room? I am in the room which is the one also used for ceremonies. Does anyone know which it is?
Thanks!

Re: Jericho Terrace Skylight Room evening pics?
the skylight terrace room - is when the entire room is opened up - it can fit a massive amount of people - my FSIL had the entire space for her wedding and it was gorgeous and Espo22 a 2008 bride also had her wedding with the room opened up - so its the same skylight just the rest of the room is opened up and not partitioned off....
we are getting married this december in the skylight room at 6pm - it will be dark - we are doing dim lighting and a candlelit aisle...
for reception pictures try looking up reviews - lots of brides had their receptions in that room and its gorgeous at night!
i tried attaching a photo of the ceremony space under the skylight at night - another bride had posted the photo - i hope she doesnt mind me posting it!
I was just at a wedding there July 13th. I am pretty sure these pics are for the same room. They were taken around 8pm. It was still light out. it's a pic of the bridal party entrance and the Bride & Groom's first dance. My opinion was that the dance floor was too dark and you couldn't see them well enough. If you notice, the first pic the lights weren't on over the dance floor. In the second pic the lights were turned up. Just not enough for me. HTH
Oh wow, that is REALLY dark! I wonder if I need to get special lighting? Thanks for sharing!

Re: Jericho Terrace Skylight Room evening pics?
any night wedding is going to be dark even with windows or skylights in the room - so it really depends on how much artificial lighting you want in the room....i prefer when its dark and candlelit - i like that ambiance - especially for when its time to really start dancing....

you can tell the maitre d how light or dark you want the room - if its too dark they can always turn the lights up - and if its to bright they can always make it darker or shut them off - its not something i would worry about at all

I agree that you can make the lighting how you want it to be. I would definitely check to see how bright a room can be and how dark. Then alter it to your preference and make sure that someone can keep on top of it that night so you don't have to worry about it. The last thing you want to worry about when you make your entrance is that people can't see you.

Yeah, I guess I can ask about whether there are any evenings on the wkend that don't have weddings in the that room so I can see it in nighttime lighting. I just switched to that room too from the Oak Room!

Re: Jericho Terrace Skylight Room evening pics?
skylight terrace room is the cocktail hour room and skylight room is the reception room
as far as lighting, tell them what you want. I had dj lighting so i wanted the lights off, plus i had candles so wanted the lights off. I didnt want it to be bright at all, i wanted a dark room and then for the colored lights of the dj to show through the room, the blue and fuschia along with the candlelight.
Also i wouldnt go just by pictures bc it wont give necessarily show you how it really looks.
if you look at my pics, some are dark, some are medium lit i guess and some are very bright. My photographer made some pictures very bright and by looking at some pics you would think the lights were fully on which they weren't at all. Then i have others that look even darker than it actually was but thats bc of the flash from others cameras, the non-pro pics and came out darker.

That's true. Guess photos can be inaccurate, which is why I should really go check out that room myself in the evening.
Did you do ambiant lighting or just dance floor/club lighting?

Those pictures do not look like they are from the skylight room. There aren't light fixtures like that hanging from the ceilings in that room. Maybe that's the penthouse or dome room?

I just checked out JT's website and the room we were in was the skylight-terrace room. That's different than the cocktail terrace room. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the skylight room when the room is closed off? I know the room that we were in can be split. It was for a wedding off 350+ guests. When I look online at the skylight and the skylight terrace room - they skylight portion looks the same. It definitely wasn't the penthouse or dome room.
Regardless, pics can be deceiving. Check the place out and have them adjust the lighting. I'm sure they will have an evening available that you can see it and get a real feel.

Re: Jericho Terrace Skylight Room evening pics?
I am getting married there in November of this year. The lighting in the room is very dim, compared to other rooms, however the room itself is breath-taking. I actually ordered lighting to be placed throughout the room. It stands out so much more if you do that.

skylight room and sklight terrace room on the website are both the same room - just one is closed off and one is opened up past the skylight part - its the same skylight in both tours....

yes there are, i had my reception in the skylight room and i even have pics from my wedding day in my album of our room and you can see it has the same fixtures. The dome room has the big round dome on the ceiling, and penthouse not sure what the ceiling looks like
actually here is a pic my photographer took from the night of my wedding which was in the skylight room.

to the OP: i did ambiant lighting no club lights. Ask your Dj about this bc they can provide lighting
yes you are right. Sorry but for the Ch they kept saying it was going to be in the terrace room so associated the word terrace with CH.
Yeah for my wedding they opened up the whole skylight room, which they do for larger weddings. They also use the skylight room for smaller weddings but do half of the room.
