We booked our wedding already at JT and are really excited, but I want to make sure that I don't regret not looking at other places... basically I emailed WM and we would be paying a few dollars less per person. I don't want to lose out on our deposit ($500) but if we can do our wedding somewhere we like better for less money than it would be OK..
Here's the thing, I didn't visit WM but have looked at pics, FH doesn't want to even go he is getting mad at me because we booked already and he is happy blah blah blah.
Basically I am asking you guys to compare the 2... who do you think is better in terms of food, service, decor, etc?
TIA ladies I am going crazy I think.

I think they r both really nice, and I have only heard good things about both, I also have talked to ppl from both places and they r really nice. Westbury Manor seemed a lil bit pushy, while who I talked to from JT was more relaxed. But don't drive ur self crazy and open that can of worms. There is alot of halls out there and trust me it is not easy (we r always asking ?'s on here about diff places but I am going in a diff direction). It's ur wedding so do what u want and r most comfortable with.
But like I said, don't go crazy, I am sure the JT is going to be perfect. And if u r both happy with the decision then stick with it (IMO). HTH!!!!

They both have good food but very different looks. I am partial to WM since thats where i am booked. We were looking for a smaller more intimate feel and i felt WM gave that vibe better than JT. I would say visit WM first before you start really thinking about changing. You may not like the feel of the place once you get there

My brother was married at Westbury and a good friend married at Jericho Terrace. I thought both halls were great! The food, service, etc was really good at both.
The main difference I feel is the decor. Westbury manor is a little different, more traditional, with the dark wood decor.

I personally like JT A LOT more... I LOVED the grounds at WM, but the rooms just weren't my style... but I think you should check them out yourself... just to give yourself peace of mind.

I've been to both - actually having our e-party at WM. I think it really depends on what is important to you - i understand the $$ thing.
But as what another bride said - dont switch just based on pics and what is said here, you have to get that feeling yourself.
WM is beautiful - for me, I think the grounds of WM is a HUGE selling point compared to JT. I know the food at both is good so again you just kinda have to figure out what is really important to you and FH.

Honestly, I have been to a wedding at Jericho Terrace about 5 years ago and the food was horrible! I didn't even go look at Jericho Terrace because food is very important to FH and I. I have never had the food at Westbury Manor, but it can't be worse than what I had my cousins wedding. Maybe it was just that day, but you should definitely do a tasting. I thought it was just me but my entire family didn't like the food at all! Maybe it was a off day for the hall, but that's all I have to go on. This is based on my experience, I am not trying to put anyones RH down. Maybe I will go to another function there in the future and will LOVE the food, then my views will change. JT is great for picture opportunities for your guests. I have a lot of pics that I took there.

I personally like JT alot more..then again, I'm very biased because thats my hall. The two both have very different looks though, so it really depends what you're looking for.

Okay .. here is my story.. you can take my advice or leave it but since I was in your shoes 6mths ago -- I will try and help
I was w/ WM and now Im switching... unless both parties are not happy with the current RH.. please do yourself a favor and leave everything as is.. you may think you are saving a few bucks but it will come and bit you in the rear later.. esp since you mention FH isnt too happy already. dont force him to do something he does want to .. We are switching because fell head over heels when we saw JT after the fact.. but that was BOTH OF US... if i could turn back the hands of time, i would of stick with WM but FH wasnt crazy about it .. Both RHs are gorgeousss and with stellar reputation on the island..
right now, you have $500 paid off, a date and an awesome deal with JT...I would trade places with you in a heartbeat... so why are you changing the reception halls? This is probably what FH could be thinking ... for a moment, my FH thought I was indecisive b/c there was too much floppin around of ideas but I wasnt ...I just want everything to go my way, not OUR way... (( hey, im work in progress.. ))
Remember there are soo many beautiful RHs out there and im not stating that you shouldnt explore your options but just remember you have to rebook a hall you both like.
. ..are you really saving money even with the loss of $500 and 29% tax + service charge? if you are having doubts about JT, thats something else, but please try and remember why you both booked JT..
for me, we are okay with changing because we honestly believe its the hall for us.. but i would go solo first before draggin FH while angry...

WM is a VERY diffrent style the JT.
I personally loved JT more the WM. JT was my 2nd choice.

Def Jt. Theres no comparison. The food and service are amazing and worth every penny you spend. You def. made the right choice

I think that I am just insane... I LOVE JT and the rooms are perfect for us... I guess I just like that WM is just kind of old fashioned looking and cozy... but JT is so beautiful too and I haven't even SEEN WM yet! haha.
I think that I am going to try and visit WM just to get it out of my mind.
