We booked our wedding already at JT and are really excited, but I want to make sure that I don't regret not looking at other places... basically I emailed WM and we would be paying a few dollars less per person. I don't want to lose out on our deposit ($500) but if we can do our wedding somewhere we like better for less money than it would be OK..
Here's the thing, I didn't visit WM but have looked at pics, FH doesn't want to even go he is getting mad at me because we booked already and he is happy blah blah blah.
Basically I am asking you guys to compare the 2... who do you think is better in terms of food, service, decor, etc?
TIA ladies I am going crazy I think.

Re: Jericho Terrace vs Westbury Manor
bump... need more opinions!
I stopped by WM today... haha even though I knew it would make me more crazy... andI really liked it there.... FH promised to go there with me on Sunday and I told him that if he didn't like it, then we would forget about it.... but I just wanted to see what he thought!
ETA: the thing is, the look of WM is what we both originally wanted. We fell in love with Fox Hollow at first because we loved how cozy and different it was. We knew that we wanted a winter wedding and it fit perfectly. We ended up not wanting to go with Fox Hollow but we went to look at JT and then just decided to put a deposit down, and I really wanted more time to look around and find something that we both wanted. FH was fed up at that point, but I felt a little rushed at the time and I was upset that we didn't look around more. Don't get me wrong I love JT and I am sure our wedding will be amazing there but like I said, I just wanted to make sure we are both sure. UGH haha thanks again ladies

Do the math.. does losing $500 from JT the same as saving a few dollars per person at Westbury Manor?

Re: Jericho Terrace vs Westbury Manor
im partial to WM because we booked that hall. i like the more intimate feel of WM better then JT. But both places have awesome food and service, so its really the atmosphere that you should base your decision on.
If FH agreed to take a look, then see what he thinks about it. the RH is a big part of the wedding, so if your uneasy about your decision, its best to rethink.
Did you check with JT about getting your deposit back? When we were thinking about booking with WM, there were only two dates left in the season we were looking for. and we asked if we left a deposit to hold the date, (so we could see if the church was available) could we get our money back if we decided not to book there. Our BM said that technically its illegal to take money from two parties for the same date/space and that they would have to come to some sort of agreement on what to do with the deposit money. (not sure how much truth there is to that). But if you end up switching, see if you can get your money back.

I didn't visit JT but I did visit Westbury Manor and I loved it!!!!!!!
It is so pretty in the inside and I loved the area where th CH is (if it's inside). From pictures I can also tell you that it looks beautiful in the winter because it is lit up with Christmas lights.
The only reason FH and I did not book here is bc of the room size which was a big downfall for us.

Re: Jericho Terrace vs Westbury Manor
I'm getting married at Westbury--it was honestly the most unique place that we see and I definitely wanted something different from the traditional wedding hall. Still, Jericho Terrace looks gorgeous and I just watched a wedding video of FH's sister who had her wedding there. It looked fantastic!
My advice? Don't drive yourself crazy. It's going to be a beautiful wedding whichever venue you decide on.

I feel like it comes down to outdoor space. Is this important to you? If so, Westbury Manor is your place. If not, stick with JT! Good luck!
Outdoor space doesn't really matter... we are getting married in Jan so we most likely won't be utilizing the outdoors at all.
Thanks ladies! I might go see the place just to make sure.... FH isn't happy he thinks I am nuts
Dont cut yourself short on the outdoor pics because you are in Jan. I am in Jan also and I plan on taking pics all over that place. They have it decorated amazingly for the winter months

Im partial to WM, the food and service is great. At first i didn't even want to look there because i had been there 2x before but once we met with our BM, we knew it was the place for us. Im so happy we chose it! Its exactly the feel we are going for! Good luck!

Re: Jericho Terrace vs Westbury Manor
I have not been to an event at either place (yet) but I think it all comes down to atmosphere and look
I personally wanted the romantic & intimate feel and I did not personally feel that at JT but everyone is different.
I know 500 is a lot of $$ (at least to me) but if you are always doubting that would be worse.
Take FH to see WM if you both love it maybe you can see if you can sell you date to someone or get your money back

Re: Jericho Terrace vs Westbury Manor
although i love jt of course, like veryone sayd, they have such different looks. i think from what youve said, you did in fact make a rush decision and although you love jt you cant get that initial type of place out of your head that you were thinking of. your fh even though it was also his first vision for your rh, he's a guy and they dont like change and they dont want to be bothered however i think he should still go with you to wm and i know this confuse things more but if he isnt soooo in love with wm enough to change rhs maybe you should check out more places that could make the decision even easier and find a place that he cant refuse.
both of you should ask yourselves, if you didnt have a deposit down alerady, would you go with wm or jt???
500 is a lot of money absolutely but its better now than when you have thousands into jt. and maybe youll break even if you go with wm and lose your deposit with jt or maybe itll only be a few bucks over so the money imo but not be an issue., i would work the numbers if thats a big factor for you

Re: Jericho Terrace vs Westbury Manor
honeslty if I were you and LOVED WM. I would tell them
Look I already have $500 with JT. I don't want to loose that money so you need to take $500 off for us somewhere so we can break even.
I think the people of any catering hall would give up $500 to get $20,000.....
I think you need to go with your gut. It seems you made a rash decision. So check it out with FH and see what you both think. I would negotiate like hell with them.
Also regarding an earlier post. (I know I am bais) but I have NEVER heard a bad thing about JT's food. Some people have different tastes and may not like what exactly they had as options but as far as overall taste from CH through the reception I have NEVER EVER heard a bad thing. I can't imagine everything the served was rancid. This isn't to say WM is not good I have heard only wonderful things about them as well. I would just be skeptical about one bad review from someone especially someone fairly new to the boards.... JMHO
