Jericho Terrace Wedding Reivew 3/3
I went to a wedding at Jericho Terrace on Sat 3/3 ---here's my honest review....
I had a great time at the wedding and realized something important...you can plan your day down to the last detail and totally stress over little things, but if there is a lot of love and you have fun people there who want to party and have a good time..then it will be great no matter what!
So, my review is about the details...they weren't A+ all around, but it was still one of the best weddings I've been to.
Jericho Terrace -
It was beautiful but I didn't like that there were so many weddings going on there at once. The hallways were packed with people from other weddings and it was a little chaotic. I didn't see any other brides though so I guess they wouldn't really be running into one another.
The cocktail hour -
Food was good, service excellent. I had shrimp, oysters and some penne alla vodka. All were good...although I was a little turned off by the roasted pig in the middle of the room! But....if that's what you like...
It was an hour and a half long...which I thought could have been shortened by a half hour. It seemed a little too long but that could also be b/c the ceremony was there so everyone was on time for the cocktail hour. Usually you make it a little longer to give a grace period for the guests who are late. So...my recommendation...if you have your ceremony there, you only need the cocktail hour to be an hour long. Towards the end we were like....when is this party starting?!?!
The room --
I am not sure of the name of the room but it was the small one downstairs across from the bathrooms. They had about 150 people there and it was way too tight. The chairs were touching the ones at the next table and everyone had to stand up at your table in order to walk out onto the dancefloor. In a way this turned out to be a good thing b/c people didn't want to be crammed at the tables so they stayed out on the dancefloor and danced all night !
Dinner -
Food was good. I had the Duckling and FH had Shrimp Orreganata. Everyone else seemed to like their food too. I was impressed when we returned to our seats 15 min. after everyone sat for dinner b/c we were up talking and our food was covered to keep it warm. Good looking out by the waiters!
The DJ -- 2 +2 Entertainment....DJ Nicky & Steel Drummer
AWESOME.!! Nicky was great... I wish I could have booked him for my wedding but he was booked already. He had the dancefloor going all night. The steel drummer was also amazing. They def. made the wedding!
The Bartender -
If you get married at JT you have to get Brian as your bartender. He was so good....really fast and great personality. It seems like a small detail but he really made a big impression on a lot of people.
Hope this helps anyone who is thinking about or who has planned a JT wedding! It was a blast!
