I'm wonder if anyone has an opinion of this place. I searched the forums, and I didn't many people having their wedding there, or many reviews of it for a guests point of view. I would appreciate comments in both views, as we are very close to booking there in 2005.

Re: Jericho Terrrace
I've been to two weddings there in both rooms. The place is beautiful and well kept, the food is awesome and everything went absolutely perfectly at both these weddings. HOWEVER, every time that I've contacted some one there (browsing for my wedding or friend's weddings) the banquet managers I spoke to were very rude and snobbish. That was just my experience though. So, if you are dealing with someone who is nice to you then, I would say you have nothing to worry about. I also haven't heard any bad comments about them except for the same thing that I experienced - a little rudeness.

Re: Jericho Terrrace
First off, appreciate the feedback, keep 'em coming.
Wow, I guess it's the luck of the draw. We got Frank, who seems like a really nice guy. He was very accomodating to show us the place twice already, and we found him very pleasant.
It breaks down to 2-3 places for us to decide on. Either Jericho Terrace, Fox Hollow, or maybe Thatched Cottage. Suprisingly, the manager we have at Fox Hollow is pretty rude, his name is Mel. He'll likely be one of the reasons we DON'T go with Fox Hollow. Although we do like the main reception room better there (its the garden room with the waterfall). We also find it very inconvinient that he bridal suite is on the third floor.
As for the room at Jericho, we aren't in either of the 2 big rooms. Because the minimum for the biggest is 200, the second largest is 150, and the one we are looking at is 100. There's no way to get to 150 unless I stand on the street corner and pass out invites. ;)

Re: Jericho Terrrace
If anyone has other suggestions for place, maybe in a similar style to this one, I'm open to them. We like Jericho because it's very...I guess it feels very modern, and upscale. The only problem is the room, I really want the bigger room.
Has anyone been to a wedding in the small room there?

Re: Jericho Terrrace
Is that the room in the basement?? I think my FMIL was in that one a few weeks ago for an anniversary party and she wasnt too crazy about it. Jimmysbride and I are both getting married at sandcastle.. and around the same price I think and both rooms ( the ballroom and the skylight room) are both gorgeous. For your guest amount you would definitly need the skylight but its VERY modern. Its worth checking out :)

Re: Jericho Terrrace
That was one of the reasons I ruled out Jericho Terrace as well - they wanted to give us the small room in the basement. Just didn't like the room. I liked the cocktail hour room they were giving us better than the reception room. Maybe you can check out Chateau Briand - or request a different banquet manager at Fox Hollow. Maybe try North Ritz Club? I liked them but it didn't fit into our schedule. The NRC was recently renovated and only one wedding at a time.

Re: Jericho Terrrace
I was at Corinne7477's wedding there on New Year's Eve, and it was FABULOUS! but she had it in the dome room. I don't know what the downstairs room looks like. The food was AMAZING!

Re: Jericho Terrrace
We are having our wedding in the Dome room in 6 months. Everybody there has been very helpful. Gina has been great in answering all of our questions and giving us advice. Everybody that I know who's been to a wedding there have had nothing but great things to say about the place, the food, etc... Good luck with your decision.

Re: Jericho Terrrace
nosey for me???
they kept giving us new people everytime we went in, and the person before them had always been fired - they kinda pulled our chainsa a bunch - the clincher was the thursday before when we dropped it all off and they said 'oh, you wanted to light the votives?? we didn't know that' after we had literally asked three different people and explaied how we wanted the placecards set....all in all, they lit them, the food was great and the service that day was great too...it was so perfect we almost forgot what a horror it was to begin with!

Re: Jericho Terrrace
I very much appreciate the feedback. I think we are going to check out the Sand Castle. Any other places to consider in the style of Terrace or reviews of JT are appreciated.

Re: Jericho Terrrace
We're having our reception at Floral Terrace. It's very nice, but does not have grounds (like Jericho Terrace has in the front). They do have a garden room inside though. Here'stheir website
ETA: I just re read the whole thread and the mininum at Floral Terrace for a Sunday night wedding is 150. However, we knew we'd have at least 150 so we didn't try to negotiate them down. They might work something out with you though. Good Luck

Re: Jericho Terrrace
I was surprised to hear that Mel was rude to you. We booked our wedding with him and we go back often for dinner in the Rose Hunt Room, and he always comes in & says hi if he sees us.
Our second choice was the JT and I don't remember the name of banquet manager, but he was a young guy, late 20's early 30's. Very nice though. I loved that your guests get 8 choices for dinner, but in the end, the Fox Hollow was more my style.
Keep looking & you will know when you find the right place!
