Jewelers in my area (north shore suffolk)

Hi girls, FH and I are looking to make it official and get a ring. Money is tight, but we know this is something I will wear forever and want something nice. Any recommendations on jewelers in the Miller Place / Sound Beach / Mt. Sinai vicinity? Somebody not overly pricy, but reputable?

I appreciate your help. Also.. what can you tell me about ordering a ring online? we see lots of sites for this. Is it safe?
