jewelers mutual ring insurance

for those of you that have it a couple of questions:

does it protect against loss or theft,
and
does the annual premium cover a calander year or a year from when you send it in. If i insure my ring now, do i pay again in jan?

did you get a detailed policy from them???

that is who we used. they cover against just about everything-loss, theft, if one of the stones just fall out, whatever. it starts the postmark date of the envelope you use to send it in, for a year. they send you all the paperwork you would need. the jeweler we used recommended them. there is another one called chubbs i think that is popular.
