Fh is Jewish and we're having a Jewish ceremony (I'm converting as my grandparents were Holocaust survivors and they would be proud)
But.... what do I have to do for the wedding? I have the chuppah thing down and I know I have to order a ketubbah (know where I can get a nice one in Hebrew and English?). I know I'm missing stuff.... HELP!!!!

Re: Jewish brides...
Go to Zion Lion in New Hyde Park. We got ours there and they also have a calligrapher who will match the Hebrew when they fill in the names. They have an assortment of Ketubahs. Unless you are Orthodox, they will be in English and Hebrew.

Some reception halls provide Yarmulkes so you may not have to buy them if you don't want to.

Re: Jewish brides...
Do you know if i have to provide my own glasses for the wine during the ceremony and the glass breaking - or does the ceremony site- (my catering hall) do it-- Do I order the ketubah or does the rabbi do it?

Re: Jewish brides...
You may wish to either use light bulb (makes a better 'popping sound' or a glass MADE for the ceremony because you can save the glass and have it suspended in resin with yournames and wedding date engraved like this: or

Re: Jewish brides...
Site for Yarmulkes www.yarmulkes.com weinfelds weinstock
Sites for Ketubahs www.e-ketubah.com = Ketubah studio www.jessyjudaica.com www.ketubahketubah.com www.shopketubah.com www.theketubah.com www.traditionsjewishgifts.com www.ketubotbynaomi.com = Naomi Teplow's site for her Ketubahs
try also Lion Zion and Yussels in Merrick (I believe).
I would also get a copy of Anita Diamante (sp?) book the New Jewish Wedding.
There are a few things you can do - have a chuppah, ketubah, smash a glass or lightbulb since it crunches better, circle your DF 3 or 7 times, say the seven blessings.

Re: Jewish brides...
You might want a Kiddish Cup ( you can ask the hall to provide one for you) and you might want a Katubah. I just meet with our Rabbi and she said that she always brings a light bulb with her for 'breaking the Glass' apparently light bulds make a louder poping noise then a regular glass. I think your hall should provide you with a glass or a light bulb.
