Re: Jewish brides
now that explains it! I was wondering why I've never seen jewish brides give favors...I am Catholic - FH is jewish so only started going to Jewish weddings when I started dating him. I thought it was odd but now I understand.

Re: Jewish brides
I'm not. There are so many things that are different with Jewish weddings. I never realized until I started planning.

Re: Jewish brides
My mom said that also, but she wasn't against me getting them. We did have them. It was a temple wedding and it's not like the temple was surprised we had favors!

Re: Jewish brides
I am not doing favors,
FH is not and FMIL is insisting on them, I told her she can pay for them if she wants them to give to her friends..

I know! I kind of like the uniqueness of it all.

Re: Jewish brides
We did favors, but only because I wanted to. There's nothing in the Torah that says you can't.
