I am doing an interfaith wedding. I'm Catholic and was wondering if there was a 'meaning' behind the bride and groom up on the chairs tradition?

Re: Jewish Brides - chairs
it is part of the celebratory dance called the horah. the bride, groom and the parents are lifted up on chairs to honor them at this time of their celebration.

I thought it is just the bride and groom who get lifted.

Yes after the bride and groom get lifted- the parents also get lifted.
It is part of the hora- also at the wedding reception the bride and groom are considered (and treated like) king and queen.
