Jewish brides .... chuppah size?

Ok, I found an affordable florist, but apparently she only has 1 size chuppa, about 7''x7'' -- which I believe is a standard size.
Just for the chuppa she is charging me $600 + $400 for the chuppah flowers.

Last night I went to a wedding and the chuppa seemed much higher and larger .......

Initially I wanted a hanging chuppa, or something a little fancier, but apparently those are pretty pricey.

Now, I have 2 questions:
How much did you pay for your chuppa, and what kind did you have or are you having? Hanging, branches, classical - classical look but larger?

There is a chance we are going to use the outdoor gazebo (weather permitting) .... so we won't have to pay for the chuppa.

p.s. what size do you think is the one in the picture? I love this chuppa, simple but still classy. I would have loved something more complicated but unfortunately I can't afford it :(

We are hoping the weather is nice and we can use the gazebo at WCC.

but if it rains, we'll be getting the chupah from our florist (Pedestals) who said (after much negotiations) that they'd charge $400 for the chupah and a few flowers on top of it. i honestly have no idea what size it is ... i don't really know anything about it, to be honest lol

:) thanks ... I think I am being a little too picky about the chuppah .... whatever, we are going to use it for 30 min after all ..... right? :) -- I think I am trying to convince myself it's not such a big deal ;)

i actually agree, believe it or not ... i think it's important that it doesn't look like a piece of poo, but past that, anything is good.

I am having the same problem. The chuppa is costing between 500 to 1,000 no matter where i go. I think the are about 7 ft tall. I was looking at a round one and just natural branches. Check with your wedding place because they don't all allow you to hang stuff from the ceiling. I had seen a really pretty one that hung up and there is no where to hook it too.

Yes, affordable chuppa prices go from $500 up - mine a 7x7 is costing $600 + $400 for the flowers, Hydrangeas and roses across the top - so 1K just for the Chuppa.

I actually dont know my size. I am getting a regular one with flowers from FBB for 800.

yeah, chuppah's are actually pretty expensive. ours is estimated to be $1200 and it will have white flowy fabrics, willowy branches and flowers in whites and creams.

Our chuppah flowers alone are coming out to about $2500.

Do we have to decorate the chuppah? i mean I haven't really given it much thought yet, but my RH is giving me one with tulle, if i decide not to do anything more, is that okay?

i definitely think you can get away with just the tulle. maybe add candles or uplighting around the chuppah for a romantic effect?
