Maybe you can help me and all of the other ladies who really need some help to find our wedding supplies. Please post where you got/are getting your yarmulkes, ketubah and other wedding items, also post any books or websites you have found useful.
All I can contribute is Anita Diamant's A New Jewish Wedding. It really explains everything in a simple way that anyone can understand!

We got our Ketubah at Yussel's in Merrick. They were very helpful there. My yarmulkes were included with the hall, so that's not helpful.
In addition to The New Jewish Wedding by Anita Diamant, The Everything Jewish wedding book (not sure of the authors b/c i borrowed it) was also good. It's part of that series of 'the everything....books'

Re: Jewish Brides: Please add to the resource list
Hi, I'm a cantorial student, so please feel free to FM me with Jewish wedding questions.
Some good resource books: Beyond Breaking the Glass and Meeting at the Well- both by Rabbi Nancy Wiener. Other sources are: A Guide to Jewish Religious Practice by Rabbi Isaac Klein (a more traditional interpretation) and Jewish Living by Mark Washofsky (the Reform interpretation).
Of all the websites I've seen, www.ketubah.com has a nice variety of choices- of which many repeat on other sites. Make sure you check the texts- whether you need a traditional, liberal, interfaith, etc. Each artist uses different texts, so check those out as well as the artwork. Some are in Aramaic and others are in Hebrew.
Also, make sure your date doesnt fall during a time when Jewish weddings are prohibited- like if your wedding falls around Tisha b'av. If your wedding falls between Passover and Shavout, check if your Rabbi or Cantor will perform a wedding during the Omer.
I hope this helps! Marnie

Here is a great Ketubah Gallery and a place to get the cubes to have your wedding glass suspended:
My FSIL told us she's going to have our wedding glass set in a nice display for our engagement gift. I'm so excited!

It is a great idea. My Matron of Honor gave us a Kiddush cup where the stem comes out and you can put the glass in it to put back in and put on display. I will use it for the ceremony.

Are most of you getting egalitarian ketubahs, or the traditional kind?

We got ours in Brooklyn. I wouldn't recommend them. After months trying to get our ketubah, they ordered the wrong one. But there working with us on getting the right one. We should have in our hands sometime this month.

Thanks everyone!
Even though the ketubah is designed for MY protection, we're getting an egalitarian one, and we'll both be signing it. We see it as a contract to one another.
