Jewish Brides Ufruf Question
Does anyone know if you have to be a member of a temple to have an ufruf there? The place we are getting married wants 500 dollars to have it at that temple. We are only having a handful of people and wanted to have the ceremony and then go out to lunch. For the 500 dollars we have to have it with the other congregants and pay for them to have soda and cake. Seems like a lot of money to me. Thanks! For those of you who will ask, the Ufruf is the ceremony for the groom. It is a celebration in honor of the marriage and the rabbi blesses the marriage.
