Re: Jewish ceremony music?

I am not Jewish but I can give you some ideas from some Jewish music I have. You could use a Jewish Wedding March that is by A. Mandelbaum, it is on the Jewish music album of popular traditional melodies, Now if you want something more sentimental you could use Dodi Li, The Eucalyptus Grove, or Eli, Eli ... I hope this helps. I wish I had the midi files to send to you girls, but I am sure that if you search online, you will find some musical-historical Jewish music sites that have this files and you can listen to them.

Good luck,

Elena

Re: Jewish ceremony music?

I have to decide the music for my ceremony, too. I've got a whole list of songs - but I'm not familiar w/all of them - so I'm looking for clips on the internet. Found this so far:
Israeli Song: http://www.giardinoquartet.co.uk/samplemusic/track05.ram
If you copy & paste it, you can hear it using RealOne Player. It's Erev Shel Shoshanim. Maybe it sounds too sad? I'll pass along more when I find them.....

Here's a clip of Dodi Li:

Re: Jewish ceremony music?

What about one of the Four seasons...
Watersong
My bridesmaids walked down to the theme from Ice Castles....I had a friends who did that too!

You can not use the wedding march or the recessional song because most rabbis will not let you because Handel and Wagner were both anti semetic and they totally frown apon it....

Re: Jewish ceremony music?

We were debating on whether to use Jewish songs down the aisle, some of them are really pretty especially Erev Ba and Jersulayim Shel Zahav. But we just decided to go with classical and contemporary. We are using Canon in D (Pachebel) for the processional (bridal party), Air on a G String (Bach) for my FI, maid of honor and ring bearer and for me I am walking into The love theme from Romeo and Juliet.

Then of course for the recessional we are using Simon Tov

good luck
