jewish wedding

anybody out there who had a jewish wedding at crest hollow country club? i'm a bit jittery about not doing any planning w/crest hollow until 6 weeks before the wedding that's a YEAR away uggghhh! we''re still looking for a band that can play both klezmer and jewish style music as well as popular tunes also if you had your ceremony there how did you arrange your hupah? any other suggestions...??? it was a hard decision not to have it in a synagogue but we wanted the cocktail hour first then the ceremony then dinner (break up the eating and ensure everyone attending would be present for the ceremony) thanks for your help in advance

My sister was married there (it was in 1993) but it was lovely. She had a nice traditional chuppah--you can work with your florist about that. Good Luck

I am getting married there in 2 weeks. I have not seen what there huppa looks like and I probably won't see it until that day. I am excited to see what it looks like. We have gotten a traditional band. The only jewish dances we are having will be the hora and the mezinka dances. My fh and I originally were talking about having the cocktail hour first and then the ceremony but then we realized that we will be missing the cocktail our and so would our bridal party so we decided to do it the old fashioned way. I will give my report of my wedding after I come back from my honeymoon. Good luck with the planning. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you both for your reponses! My wedding is a year away and I'm already nervous! I just want it to be fun for both older and younger guests (isn't that so tough), my fh friends want metallica probably :) and I want andrea bocelli go figure? Brenda what band are you using? How are you incorporating jewish trad. in your ceremony? Any ideas appreciated. I'm not very religious (in fact don't belong to a temple) so need to get as much info about the cultural aspect of the wedding as possible! Thanks again,

I am not very religious either (I only celebrate the big holidays) and I to do not belong to a temple. My fh is even less religious than I am. Our band is called 'The Projekt' which we got through The Entertainment Group. (Which is recommended by CHCC) I spoke to my fh and he thinks that there might be a Klezmer band that plays at the Knitting Factory. I don't know if they also play more up to date music. As for the ceremony, other than our Rabbi reading our ketubbah and the breaking of the glass that is it. I am not walking around my fh. If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] Brenda
