Do both mothers wear the same color as each other? Are they supposed to be the same color as the rest of the bridal party? I am having black dresses for bridesmaids, but I don't know what to do for the mothers. Thanks for any help
I went to my friends wedding and his side is conservative...I hate to say this, but I don't remember what color his mom's dress was, but her mom's dress was a beige/ivory dress and the BMs had cranberry/burgundy/purple colored dresses...
It was beautiful!
hope this helps

Re: Jewish weddings-Do mothers have to match?
I don't know if it is a Jewish thing or not. . .My future mother inlaw is Jewish. Her other son just got married in June and the bridesmaids (me included!) wore black. She made a big deal that the bride's mother (who's catholic) was not going to wear black. My FMIL stated 'the mothers are a part of the wedding party and should match the bridesmaids and wear the same color' But anywhere I have read it says that the mothers can wear any color they want as long as they don't clash with eachother or the bridesmaids. As I see it . .I want each of them to wear what they want. Hopefully they pick 2 different colors so they can standout from each other. I highly doubt my FMIL will match my girls b/c they'll be in some sort of light color and she hates light colors! oh well!
Sorry . . .I'm babbling now
P.S, the only reason I mentioned religion is because you asked about a Jewish Wedding and I only have info on Interfaith hope this helps

Re: Jewish weddings-Do mothers have to match?
all of the mothers and grandmothers will wear the same color at my wedding. the bridesmaids are wearing silver and the moms are going to wear black. I think it's pretty common in jewish weddings for the moms to match, but like everything else it's totally up to you. it's your wedding.

My bridal party wore black except for the mothers. My mom wore silver-grey and my mother-in-law wore champagne. My husband and I are both Jewish and married by a conservative rabbi and no one even thought twice about the colors for them as long as they were happy and were not clashing badly.

Re: Jewish weddings-Do mothers have to match?
My FH and I are interfaith, but really having a nondenominational ceremony, so we're not concerned with certain traditions, but I can tell you what my brother did.
My brother and his wife had a conservative Jewish wedding. The bridal party wore pink, my mom wore ivory (bride was fine with it because it was in August) and her mom wore a chocolate brown. Although they technically matched in color tones, it was not intentional at all, and they certainly didn't match the bridal party (although it didn't completely clash either). Hope this helps!!

I don't think that they have to match. My mom and my FMIL are both wearing black & pewter but that was my request. I have been to a lot of weddings where the mothers wore different colors. good luck!
