I am terrified of the chair and the height and all an I dont want to be embarrassed if they cant pick me up (not likely but it's a fear I have)
This causes me anxiety just thinking about it.
We are still doing the horah, just no chairs.
FHs cousin did this at her wedding and FILs said- oh no- you have to do the chair.
BUT I really dont wat to do it and I'm stressing about it.
FH doesnt care he says we dont have to if I dont want to.
Anyone not doing it?
I know its tradition and all but we are doign every other tradition and still doing the horah and FILS can go in the chair if they want.
TIA

I think you do not have to do it! Is it a Religious act... or a celebratory act? If it is the celebration part,,, celebrate a diffrent way!
i dont mind the dancing in a circle hava nagila stuff but its just the chairs i want to cut out. They really cant complain if its a fear of mine right
Who cares if they complain!!!! It is FH and your day!
when i said no, someone saud- 'oh dont worry- you will be fine' like tough shiit- you are doig it.
I think i will have FH tell them NO and dont try it.
My man has my back
People kill me...why would anyone care if you do it or not?

It's your day, don't do it if you don't want to!!
Our hall has a special chair with arm rests and little handle things to hold onto during the horah which makes me feel better about it -- I'm afraid to fall out! I think a lot of halls have these chairs. We also did it at my bat mitzvah and it made for some hilarious pictures.
