JEWLERS ON THE ISLAND THAT ARE RIPPING US OFF!!!

I FOUND THIS ARTICLE ON NEWS 12.COM!!!

12/19/02) WOODBURY - Jewelry is a popular gift for the holidays. But are you getting what you are paying for? An undercover investigation in Nassau County proved you may not be.

Undercover video from Nassau County investigators from the DA's office and Office of Consumer Affairs shows several stores selling what was supposed to be 10 and 14 karat gold jewelry. But after it was tested, the gold was shown to have siginfiantly less gold content than the salesperson promised. Some of the 14 karat gold pieces tested actually had 12 or 13 karats.

Of the 11 stores tested, six sold investigators illegally under karated gold.

All face fines up to $10,000.

The stores that were busted were:

Simon's Jewelry - Massapequa
Golden Taj - Tri-County Flea Market, Levittown
Yael Creations - Tri-County Flea Market, Levittown
Lydias Jewelry - Tri-County Flea Market, Levittown
The Jewel Box - Green Acres Mall, Valley Stream
Peter Jewelry-Hempstead
The stores that passed investigators' tests:

Golden Star Jewelry - Shoppers Jewelry Exchange, West Hempstead
Leza Jewelry - West Hempstead
Bob's Jewelry - Tri-County Flea Market, Levittown
Jewelry Castle - Green Acres Mall - Valley Stream
Littman Jewelers - Green Acres Mall - Valley Stream

Oh no! We actually just ordered our wedding bands from Yael Creation but we are having them made in platinum ( which the guy was actually trying to get us to leave it in the white gold) Do you think we will be okay?
