I am definately not on this list, lol so i did not vote!!!!!
Even though FH has tons of money, he would never spend it on a one night thing, i think he would buy a nice big boat or something lol

I know lol seriously Bonnie, ok now here for my 2 cents. I really couldn't care how much anyone spends on their wedding if it $ucks, it $ucks no matter how much you spent. Although there are some people who are just concerned about how much money you spend on it. I'm not talking about anyone in particular especially you Denise lol, just thought I'd clear that up because I don't want you to think that's it was towards you because you started the thread. I think these threads are interesting but some people like to just use it to 'show off' Just because you can afford to spend $250k on it doesn't make it any better than the couple who spent $10k on it. I've been to so many freakin weddings (must be the huge Italian family thing lol). Some of them were RIDICULOUSLY expensive and then some of them the couple was on a VERY tight budget and honestly if I put them in order from my favorite to least favorite the amount of money that they spent had NOTHING to do with how good of a party it was.

melissa, i agree, everyone has their own ideals of what a good wedding is, I will admit if FH wasnt so educated in investing, and business, i probably would go overboard. But he just keeps telling me that it is not wise to overspend on just one night. No one in our families will know the difference.

its ok i dont take offense to it...This was brought up in the other thread so thats why I did it...I dont think its anything to show off about, i wish i was spending less lol. But if you have noticed everyone who did take the poll didnt respond to say how much they are spending, so i guess in a way its the opposite, they feel uncomfortable mentioning how much or discussing it and dont want to show off.
No offense taken, if budget wasnt brought up i wouldnt have thought about it.

yeah that was something i thought too! like i thought we were doing well budget wise but then ppl say they're only spending x amount and im like please share your secrets! but i guess its all relative to the # of guests and if ure a peak month and saturday night etc. im also figuring the worst case scenario for us and would like to spend the least amount that we could without sacrificing the things that are important to us.
i totally agree though...u can spend $400,000 on one big party...look at super sweet 16 and platinum weddings...but just cuz they spend all this $ and get all that extra stuff doesnt mean their event is any better than someone who did everything themselves and cut their guest list and spent A LOT less than that etc.

I would love to be able to spend this kind of money, but as I said in another thread, we arent even considering a prenup because we have zilch!!! I know, its pathetic, but we'll survive!

In my poll answer I didnt include anything but the wedding.
Nothing to do with the engagement party or honeymoon although they are all a party of the wedding celebration. i think my costs would be over100k its ridiculous...and its not even like I am having anything elaborate planned. i can have a huge wedding for this much or even half the price in some places out of state.
I hope I can do something different to wow my guests so that I feel the cost was worth it
