JMO- but if you are going to give your lady a ring on Valentine's day- it should be an e-ring!

Original post by nrvbrd

Wow- that was a long title!

Ok, Dh and I were out to dinner on Valentines Day-

I noticed this beautiful couple. The man had on a really nice suit and the lady had on a sexy red dress. I mentioned to my husband how great they looked. They ended up being seated near us.

Well at one point his lady went to the bathroom and he put a red ring box on top of her glass. I told Dh- OMG-he may propose.

Well she comes back sees the ring box and her eyes light up tremedously. I am at the edge of my seat. She opens the box and it is a gold ring with a red stone. I wish I had the camera out- the look of disappointment on her face was priceless. She said oh Thank you.

I felt so bad, you could tell she wanted an e -ring. I told Dh if he ever did that to me I would be so pi$$ed.My husband totally thought I was nuts.

Oh well just my opinion.

Um.. I think we're being a bit presumptious. We don't know what happened later that night with that couple. In fact, we don't know anything about them. If he was smart, he used that as a diversion.

Now.. Some men are from another planet. Very true. They're clueless Others are not. And are excellent at how they treat their woman. Let's not generalize. I think that's insulting to the good guys.

I see your point- BUT I still would not want that done to me- diversion or not.

and I see your point as well...
I remember when I proposed everyone who knew me and my FW knew that we were going away for V-Day. So I couldn't do it then. That would have been much too predictable. I think you can use diversions.. if you use them correctly.

True..
Jim & I took off for a trip and everyone assumed. We got back and Jim got two bottles of wine from his office to 'congradulate' him. heh.

When he said he didnt pop the question they were slightly disappointed.

He proposed while we were on vacation.. His diversion ws a necklace.
