I'm using JoVon for photography and video for my wedding. My photographer is John H. They are a bit pricey and a little more than we originally wanted to spend but we fell in love with their work. My dealings with their office have gone extremely well thus far. They are extremely professional and helpful whenever I call them. As part of our package we get a trial photo session (engagement photo) they do this so you can see how your hair/makeup etc looks so you can change it if you need to before the big day and also so you become comfortable working with your photographer. We will be meeting with our photographer this coming Tuesday to take our trial photo's so I can fill you in on how that goes if you are interested. We are using JoVon and John H. as well. My dealings with them thus far have been pleasant. They are a bit more than what we looking to spend also, but we too fell in love with their work that we had seen from our friends weddings. John H. came highly recommended and if we couldn't get him I am not sure we would have paid the price. Luckily, he was available.

Tanya- Please let me know how your engagement shoot goes. I would be very interested in knowing what the procedure is for that. GOOD LUCK!!!

Dear tanya and rachel

I saw their internet site and the work looks gorgeous. Could you give me an idea of their price plans and what you get? I would appreciate it more than I can tell you. (My husband and I have to small children and its hard to go to tons of appointments). In case you are wondering- we were married 4 years ago, but didn't have a big wedding-just a small ceremony and dinner with the immediate family now we are finally gonna do the whole big wedding thing!!! The engagement photo shoot I believe is a standard part of their package. You can arrange it at any time. I live in upstate NY so I called them a couple of weeks before I planned on coming down and told them when I would be available and we set up a time to meet with John H. to take the pictures. Usually they are either taken in the studio or on their estate. As you probably can guess they don't usually take pictures on the weekends since they are busy with weddings but they were very accomodating to my needs and we were able to set something up on a Monday afternoon. We are meeting this coming Monday so I'll let you know how it goes when we get back.

Their price was on the higher end of what I had been seeing out there. We are paying $3800 and I don't have my contract in front of me so I'll try and remember what my package includes. We get one leather bound album with 50 10x12 photos. Two parents albums with 24 5x7 photos. 100 thank you card photos, engagement photo shoot, 1 or 2 larger size pictures. 600-800 proofs and a photographer and assistant for 10 hours. They were more than we were really planning to spend but we just fell in love with John's work and since we thought our photo's were the most important because that is all that we will have to remember our day that it would be worth it to splurge on that and cut back on something else. We are also getting our video from them and they do beautiful work on that also. If you have any other questions let me know.

Actually, Jo Von is the owner. I have heard a lot of horror stories about working with Jo Von. I hear he is really obnoxious to his staff. I would feel bad if my photographer was yelling at his staff in front of me. It would prpbably put me on edge. I chose not to use him for these reasons. And, the work that I was of his really was not any better than John H. I thought John H. took more "natural" photos. Just an opinion.

Hi Everyone-I have several of these creative programs that I use for all sorts of things. Most comp usa has a huge selection. I absolutely love printmaster (platinum). Just to let you know that there are lots of these programs. (that is my favorite) Its a great investment if you plan on using it in the future for other stuff. I've made calenders, tons of cards. Even a book for my god-daughter telling the story of her birth that I had laminated. I'm really just babbling here! Sorry.... Stacy

I JUST HAD MY WEDDING IN DEC AND WE USED JOVON, WE USED TELMO AND BETH THEY TOOK SOME GREAT PHOTO'S WE PAID A LITTLE EXTRA TO HAVE ONE PHOTOGRAPHER DO THE BLACK AND WHITE , AND CANDID AND THE OTHER ONE DOING MORE OF THE TRADITIONAL WORK. I HAVE OVER 1000 PICTURES TO CHOSE FROM, I ALSO TAKE A LOT OF THE SAME PHOTO SO YOU CAN HAVE A CHOICE FOR YOUR ALBUM BECAUSE SOMETIMES YOUR EYES ARE CLOSED. ANYWAY THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THE ONLY THING THAT I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO IS TO WRITE A LIST OF WHAT PICTURES THAT YOU WANT AND WHO YOU WANT IT WITH MAKE SURE THAT YOU GIVE IT TO SOMEONE THAT WILL TELL THE PHOTOGRAHER AND TO MAKE SURE SOME OF THOSE PICTURES WERE TAKEN. I HAD ALMOST EVERYONE THAT WAS AT MY WEDDING IN THE PICTURES BUT SOME OF THEM I WANTED TO HAVE WITH ME AND SOMETIMES THE PHOTOGRAPHER CAN'T DO IT ALL. ANYWAY IF YOU NEED ANY HELP FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME.

Thanks! On the spur of the moment I hopped into Macy's bridal in the Smith Haven Mall. I had pictures that I liked with me so I showed the girl. She was very helpful. One of the gowns I had a picture of I tried on and I absolutely loved it. I tried on two more(different styles) just to compare- but I went with the first one. How easy! I guess I could drive myself crazy searching for several more months and trying on a thousand dresses. But why bother? Chances are I'll go with the first one anyway. I love it so I will make things easier and not second guess myself! I hope that when you start trying them on you have as much luck as me. Don't drive yourself crazy though. I'm up in the Ithaca area. Did you get a chance to check out Jovon? What did you think? I just did my engagement photo's with John H. this past monday and I had a great time. John was a prince to work with and I'm really excited to see how the pictures turn out.
