So I sent my resume to a company before my wedding (thru a freind that works there) I never heard anything back until yesterday. I have scheduled an interview for Monday. However, they have sent me the job description & although it is my field, there are responsibilities included that I have never done before.
Although I just got a raise here & every other Monday off, this position is 10k more.
Would you go on the interview even if you didn't feel completely qualified?
TIA

Re: Job related question...what would you do?
yes, b/c you will find out at the interview if these are duties you can 'grow' into.
a new job should be about growth as well as capabilities.
if you can show how your current skills have you lined up to be a quick learn on the skills you are missing, you should fare ok.

I agree! I also feel like it's always a good idea to get the most experience interviewing as you can...it's a great skill to have.
Good luck!

When Job req's are made up they 'boost' the qualifications and requirements. They asked you to come in, so they are fully aware whether or not you are a good candidate.
Just be honest and upfront w/them, and it's a known fact that any new job that you go to, you are expected to learn new things, and they will teach them to you.

Yes I would definitely still go on the interview. There are plenty of jobs out there that you may not seem qualified for, but a lot of employers look for people who can grow into the position and bring a new perspective. It never hurts to talk to them and see what they have to say.

Absolutely go. Even if the job isn't for you, the interview itself will be a good experience.
