John Anthony's Brides--Questions

We just got back from looking at John Anthony's and were so impressed with the what they offered. the only problem is the two events at a time thing. My fiance is very concerned about the parties crossing paths (we would like to have the cocktail hour upstairs and the reception downstairs). Did you find this happened at the party? Also--I forgot to check out the restroom situation. Are there restrooms upstairs and downstairs?

Even though we think the menu offerings are amazing, we are wondering about the food. How was it at the cocktail hour and at the reception itself? what kinds of stations did you choose for the cocktail hour?

Did you use any of their house vendors? If so, which ones and how were they?

We got married there last year and they do a wonderful job!!! the food was excellent and the service great! i saw the other bride only once and that was when they were sending us downstairs to prepare for our entry into the reception...she was in front of her room waiting to be announced.there are no bathrooms upstairs but no one mentioned any problems. our cocktail hour was downstairs and our reception upstairs. they space the time of the parties so they have enough time to set up the stuff!
i used a house florist and a house photographer. for flowers we used Flower Michelle. all i have to say is AMAZING!!! they did such a wonderful job! our photographer was from De Ja Vu. No complaints there our pics came out great I just wish there were a bit more candids but that's my fault for not requesting alot more. anyway, if you choose JA's you will not be sorry!!! I just wish we could go there for an affair ourselves!!!

Hi ali I'm getting married there in Aug and those were my same concerns. I asked around like crazy before we booked and I've heard NOTHING but great things, from the food to the service. The things they offered were just too good to pass up!! I'll let you know more in August

I am not getting married there, however I did work there for one summer. The food is fabulous..at least the food I was able to sneak! HAHAHA. I think they also remodeled a bit since then. Good luck!!

My GF got married there last March. If there was another wedding going on, we never knew it. JA was very good about keeping the parties separated - I think my GF said they stagger the times so that you don't have 300+ people going for their cars at the same time.

From what I can remember - everything was awesome. I especially liked that the main course was a sampler with the chix and steak, so that you could try a little of everything.

I do remember getting there super-early and the bar was already open for the BP, which I thought was cool.

I am getting married at JA's in June. I've heard wonderful things about the food, and about everything in general. I, too, am using the top floor for cocktail hr, and the bottom for the main reception. Are you also getting married there??

You should look at the Harbor Club. Its owned by the same people and a similar great menu. I almost booked there and youy are the only wedding going on!!

We booked the Harbor Club! I too is a waterfront location. Either location- the company does a wonderful job. They have very high standards for service and the food is just fantastic.

I am getting married at JA's in March and will be having my cocktail hour upstairs and reception in the Ocean Room (downstairs). I had similiar concerns about two weddings at once, but they assured me they haven't had problems in the past and everyone that I have talked to had nothing but great things to say. Even with pictures, they let the first party get there early so they have a chance to get a lot of photos done before the second party arrives.

Also, the staff there is great to work with. I ordered my invitations through Anne (their Party Coordinator) and she was great. Even though I knew exactly what invitation I wanted, she spent two hours with me working out all the details.

I may be biased because I am getting married there, but I am confident in our decision to have our reception there.

My cousin was marreid there and had the set-up excatlu how you want it. To be honest, I LOVED it and didn't see ANY other party.
