Wow! I was curious what they’d change. I had been to see John Anthony’s when I was hall hunting, last summer. I instantly fell in love, but it was only the 2nd place I had looked.

I saw so many places and I was glad to find something that looked neutral; I was told when I booked that everything was being changed but that it would be neutral. I am really upset - I hope that I'm just overreacting. Now I have to bring my fiance to see what he thinks - if he dislikes it too, I don't know what to do.

Edited to add - everything is fine now

FH and I saw John Anthony's this weekend and they showed us the curtain and carpet samples. We weren't really sure what to make of them since it's hard to imagine what the room will be like when all the renovations have been completed.

The BM also told us that, in addition to the curtains and carpets, they're also changing the light fixtures and crown molding, but that everything will still stay in the same color family. I think they might also be changing the marble on the dance floor, but don't hold me to that.

The BM said that he'll have renderings in about a month...maybe you should wait until you can see the renderings? That might give you a better idea of what the finished product will look like.

Despite all the changes, though, the view is gorgeous. Are you using the upstairs room or the downstairs room?

I have it all to myself so the ceremony is downstairs and the reception is upstairs.
You're right - it's hard to tell from just the samples.

I've been having a bridezilla morning...

I hope so. I do like the new china and the new linens that they just bought. The new chairs are coming in too but I'm not sure when.

no one is going to remember the curtains.
honestly i cant even remember the curtains in my fmil's house - let alone a wedding. :)

i am sure if they are spedning al lthe money on improvements that it will look really nice.

dont worry yourself. it will be beautiful and that view is incomparable!

Hi I just wanted to say hi and let you know that we booked our date 7/22/06. We are so excited. They definitly changed names and owners. I have their new business card. We saw the new curtains and carpet too and I think it will look nice once its all put together. We are having our Cocktail Hour down stairs and upstairs is going to be the Main Ball room. We cant wait...
