since I'm the first one in '06 to get married there, I will try my best to post a review and pictures as soon as I can.

I feel so silly that my carpet/drapery freak out reappears every so often...

I spoke to my friend who is getting married there on july 9th and she is very upset about the name change, she says it sounds cheesy...whatever its just a name... BUT a letter will be sent in the mail to all of her guests letting them know about the name change so they arent searching around for john anthonys...which i thought was nice..and because she booked with the old menus etc...she gets to pick the best of both the old and the new....
i will write a review after the wedding from a guests opinion

im not getting married until 7/21/06, but i also get to choose between the old and the new menus. i was also upset about the name change, but my fiance likes it, so im dealing. let me know if u find out any other info.

Im planning a wedding for next year and I recently just went to check out the Venetian YC. I have to say that when I saw the new curtains I was impressed--I liked them better than the old ones! As for the marble dance floor, she showed me the design pattern and the marble colors, and while it is hard to imagine, I think it will look great. The carpet does look busy but I think it will look nice. Oh and the new chairs are beautiful. They are the same ones Ive seen at the Garden City Hotel and VIP CC. Anyway I can see why you're concerned--I too wonder what the final product will look like. I have been racking my brain trying to choose a place!! But I really like the VYC...definitely one of my two choices...My questions about the venetian are: 1. How is the food and service? and 2. Where would pic's take place if it rains? 3.

that's the 'old' one - the new one isn't in yet

Is their website up..I am so curious to see what it looks like..my cousin got married there and I thought it was pretty..just wanted to see what it looked like now

There isn't one yet. The name was officially changed this month to the Venetian Yacht Club and the catering director told me that the work will get done in October. They are going make so many changes; maybe they'll have a website when it's all complete?

Quick question: Who told you that the renovations would be happening in October? I was in there very recently and that is not what they said.

The catering director. I didn't get exact dates, but he said October. I don't want to freak you out and I highly, highly doubt that anything would be out of place there for your wedding.

Just got off the phone with Daisy...she said that they should be starting within the next 10 days... she said if it's any different she will get back to me....

Future sister in law was at a wedding last week at VYC. She told me the cocktail room was beautiful, all marble. Talked to maitre d' who told her the other two rooms would be stared very shortly. From what she told me it sounds like the place will be spectacular. Can't wait to see it. I'll be going to a Christening there next Sunday.
